Chapter Eighteen:
I woke up to the sound of my phone ringing the ring tone wasn’t any flashy. I flipped it open to answer it. I know my phone is outdated but it was the one they gave me.
“Hello?” I answered the phone, my voice croaky
“It's Ryan” the Alpha announced waiting for my reply
“What is it?” I asked curious as to why he was ringing me, hopefully I wouldn’t have to go away since I need to look after Warwick
“Well, we want Warwick to attend school. Just drop him off we already have him enrolled, there are supplies provided so you don’t need to worry about any of that” the Alpha explained
“You tell me this now. What the hell is the time?” I asked
“Eight 0’clock. The school starts at eight fifteen” he told me
“You should have called earlier” I growled. I can't believe he left it till the last minute before he decided to ring me.
“Alright, alright. Just get him there” the Alpha sighed
“Whatever” I hung up the phone then slamming it onto the bed-side table
I guess this will be the best for Warwick after all he needs an education. He’ll probably is learning much about the transitions and about his species. I need to tell him not to bring up Black Dogs because that would just scare people as terrible as that sounds. People aren't open minded these days and I had to remind him of that.
I got to Warwick's room opening up the door. I shook Warwick to wake him up “Hey buddy. Get changed, you're going to school” I told him. A look of surprise made an appearance onto his face.
“Okay, I'll be up in a second” he answered
“I know that trick Warwick” I laughed, he would probably just go back to sleep again. I picked up Warwick out of his bed placing him on the carpeted floor
“It’s cold” Warwick began to shiver
“Then hurry up and get changed” I lightly punched him in the arm
I met Hayden at the door
“What is it?” I asked him, walking down the hallway
“You're good to that kid” Hayden answered “Better than dad ever was” he looked at me with sadness in his eyes. I knew that sadness.
“He did the best he could” I answered. After all the shit that man had put me through, there's no point in denying he tried his best. Even if what he did was wrong.
“Yeah” Hayden walked in front of me. “I made breakfast anyway, at least Warwick will have something to eat before he goes” he placed a plate filled with pancakes onto the table
“Thank you” I smiled at him
“Wow I haven’t seen you smile in a while” Hayden teased "I think I know who did this"
“Shut up” I grinned
“I'm ready” Warwick came running into the dining room
“Breakfast is on the table, hurry” I told him
“Okay, who made it?” Warwick asked
“I did” Hayden quickly shot in. He had a proud look on his face
“You know how I can tell?” Warwick was waiting for us to answer; he looked excited for what he was about to say
I sighed “How?” I asked, I really don’t want to know the answer; I think he was about to insult me
