Chapter Twenty-Eight:

Koran and I got to the door. I got up on my own two feet so no one new what had happened, the only ones that know about it is Koran and Hayden. I have to tell Hayden later as he is trying to see a link between each shift.

“You think he’ll like it?” I asked Koran, hoping that he would think it was a good idea

“I think so” Koran said looking down at me before opening the door

“Warwick” I called for him, he greeted me by running up to me, hugging me around my waist completely missing the rabbit that Hayden and Kayla spotted but didn’t say anything.

“Look what I got you” he broke the hug, looking at the rabbit I got him

“Is this for me?” he asked jumping up and down

“Do you like it?” I asked him nervously

“Yes!” he ripped the rabbit from my hands and took the rabbit in his arms

“I'm going to call him… Patches” he thought out loud, the look on his face suggested he was happy by the name he had chosen for the rabbit

“Come on Warwick, a more unique name” Hayden playfully punched him in the arm

“It’s going to be called Patches” Warwick defended the name for the rabbit

“I like that name” I heard Jaspers voice; he got up from his seat on steady feet, his wounds just about healed.

“We better get going Koran, we’ll take Logan with us” Jasper looked at me “Say your goodbyes Logan, its time”

“What?” Kayla looked confused to what she was hearing, she was probably hoping she heard wrong but she wasn’t

“I have to fight in the battle between the Black Dogs and the rest of us” I told her

“When were you going to tell me Logan” her eyes filled up with tears but none escaped

“I was going to tell you” I told her “I just didn’t know how”

“Come here you idiot” she opened her arms

I went into her arms hugging her as if I would never leave but I had to. She held onto me the same as I did, she would never let go

“Stay safe for me” she cried, her tears falling down her face

“You too babe” I took her face in my hands and kissed her as if it was my last. Her breathing was heavy as we parted

I turned around and went on one knee for Warwick to hug me properly. He ran into my arms and put his arms around my neck, slightly choking me, not that he noticed

“You be good for Hayden” I told him “You think you can do that?” I asked him, I needed reassurance from him, I was trying my best to not break down into tears in front of any of them.

He nodded into my chest as he agreed; I felt his tears getting soaked up into my shirt. I got up and tousled his hair.

“Take care of them for me” I looked over at Hayden, he seemed relaxed as if he knew I would be going soon. Perhaps he discussed it with Koran or Jasper while I was asleep.

“Yes sir” he stood still looking down at Warwick with a look in his eyes that he would protect him with his life, as if he was his own son.

“One last thing Hayden, it happened again today” I told him; recognition instantly came onto his face. He knew what I meant
