Chapter Five:

I was shivering as it was getting deeper into winter. The concrete of the building clung to the cold.

I had finally got rid of all of the toxins that were invading my bloodstream. Giving my anti-toxins away came with a price. I had lost a significant amount of weight in a short amount of time.

I went into the corner tucking my knees into my chest trying to keep warm. I rubbed my hands together for warmth before looking at them. They looked pale and my veins visible underneath my skin.

I flinched as I saw a man in front of me, he had a rope around his neck hanging from the ceiling. I stifled a scream from the sudden figure but it left as quickly as it came.

I glanced at Kyran to see if he saw it. I was met with confused eyes. Of course, he didn't see it. I got wrapped up in my thoughts. I had a suspicion that Kyran was keeping something from me.

"Just spit it out Kyran," I glared at him in annoyance.

"What," he raised up his hands sarcastically. He rolled his eyes as he saw that I wore a blank expression. "What do you mean Logan?" he asked seriously.

"You know some things that I don't. Can you please tell me what I need to know about this place and you?" I plead with him.

"I will tell you little by little Logan although there really isn't much to tell you. You will find out everything eventually so just have some patience would you," Kyran stated almost as if he was annoyed at me.

I rested my elbow onto my knee, "At least tell me about the experiments and what they did to you," I said tiredly.

Kyran sighed giving up, "Fine. You're really persistent, you know that" he rubbed his eyebrows. I nodded in agreement.

"Anyway, as you know the hellhounds are trying to make themselves stronger. So, in order to do that they experiment us so that they can fight against it... in a way-" he cut off short.

Kyran was dragged out of his room quickly and quietly. It was clear he really had given up trying to fight them. I was annoyed that I couldn't make sense of what he was talking about.

I sighed and rested my head against the brick wall.

Kyran was too much of a mystery. I know things have happened to him. I know he doesn't fully trust me but I needed to know what they were capable of. I really don't want to be caught by any surprises right now. I have had too many lately.

There were so many ghosts here not much to my surprise since many have died here. I hear wails and cries of wounded werewolves begging for someone to help them. There howls filled with so many painful memories.

"Mum...Mum," I screamed at her. Tears were flooding out of my eyes as I shook her limp, lifeless body. She was murdered right in front of my eyes.

"Damn it. Wake up please," I shook her furiously but there were no signs of life. Her eyes looked back at me with no light in them. Her eyes were not the way I remember them.

I howled for anyone to come and help. My father was away with Hayden on some business trip but there is a slight possibility that they can feel something wrong. My mum and dad had an unbreakable connection.

I lay down next to her wrapping my arms around her waist and resting my head on her chest. I began to sob into her chest breathing in her scent. She smells like roses. It was my favourite flower at the time because she gave me one every day.
