Chapter Twenty-Six

 “Are you ready to get out of here?” Hayden asked, he seemed to be calmer today. I don’t know what happened or what he did to that warlock. I hope he didn’t do anything too rash

 “Yeah, I don’t want to spend another minute here” I replied, I was excited to get out of this place after my near death experience. Staying in bed was not really my thing.

 “Here are some clothes” Hayden threw the clothes onto my bed along with a pair of shoes “Hurry up” he left the room, shutting the door quietly

 I got up wincing, the drugs were starting to wear off I guess. I pulled my white shirt on with a pair of jeans. I put on the adidas shoes that I wear all too often.

 I heard the door opening and I lifted up my head to see who had entered. It seemed to be Francis

 “What is it?” I asked as I stood up.

 “You need to dress your wounds again later tonight just with bandages. Oh and just look away from your arm when you do that. It looks pretty bad” Francis told me

 “Okay, thanks for the heads up” I nodded before leaving the room to be met by Hayden outside the room

 “Are you alright?” Hayden asked me, looking back at Francis who was now down the hall "What did he say?"

 “Yeah I'm alright, I just have to redress my wounds with bandages” I told him “Which you are going to do for me” I told him

 “What, why me?” Hayden complained “Nah I'm just joking. I’ll do it for you” we walked out of the hospital, Hayden had his arm around my shoulders

 “What ever happened to the warlock” I asked cautiously. I hoped Hayden showed him a little bit of mercy

 “Lets just say that he's not exactly breathing” Hayden spoke with anger in his voice

 “What, you killed him?” I stammered, shocked by the measures that Hayden took

 “Yeah I did Logan, he almost killed you and I didn’t want there to be a second time” Hayden justified "Once they do it, they keep on doing the same thing until they get what they want"

 “Well I was only caught by surprise Hayden, he had wolfsbane for god sake. I wouldn’t let there be a second time” I frowned

 “I know you wouldn’t. Anyway Kayla's at the house, she took work off today to see you” Hayden told me on a lighter tone

 “Why would she do that, work is important to her” I thought out loud

 “And you are important to her as well” Hayden added

 I unlocked the door and greeted by Kayla as she wrapped her arms around my stomach, I winced but it wasn’t her fault she was just happy to see me. I slowly put my arms around her as much as I could manage.

 Kayla started crying into my stomach “I'm so sorry. I didn’t know he had wolfsbane” she apologized

 “Kayla, don’t worry about me you know its almost impossible to kill me” I laughed, “I'm just glad that your safe. I don’t know what I would have done if something happened to you” I took her face in my hands, wiping away the tears with my thumb.

 “Thank you” she pulled me into a tighter hug making me grunt “Oh my gosh I forgot, sorry” she pulled away smiling through her tears.

 I heard a knock on the door opened it. Jasper was barely conscious and bleeding out heavily “I didn’t know where else to go” he said
