Prompt: Con dreams a lot (read authors note?)

Connor loves to sleep, and not because he's tired or because it's what all normal teenagers say they love, but because when he's sleeping he's dreaming. And God does he love to dream.

Because in reality Connors life isn't that great.

Because in reality Connor is sad and angry.

Because is reality the boy Connor loves is blind.

And because in all reality, Connor just isn't Connor anymore.

With dead beat parents and suicidal thoughts Connor is very fragile, but when fragile boys meet ones even more fragile then themselves things tend to fall apart.

Connor is the only person to ever love Troye in a way all boyfriends are supposed to love each other. Maybe it's because Troye can't see, or maybe it's because his voice is raw, or maybe it's because he always aces his English papers.

School bullies spit insults that scar them both and there's nothing they can do, because love isn't enough to fix a set of eyes that were never even broken in the first place. But nonresponsive.

And that's why Connor loves to dream. Because in Connors reality his parents don't care about him, his thoughts are sickening, and Troye wont stop acing those damn English papers.

But in Connors dreams, his body doesn't hurt, the swimming practice from the day before not even existing in such a sacred place.

In Connors dreams his clothes are new and nice and his hair is soft, soft enough that it's almost not even hair.

And in Connors dreams Troyes eyes aren't hazy and unfocused like they normally are in his haunting reality.

For in Connors dreams they're color is a magnificent blue, so deep he could drown in it.

And in Connors dreams those magnificent blue eyes are focused on him, tracing his body and wearing him thin.

In Connor's dreams they're wrapped up in white sheets and oh so content.

In Connors dreams Troye isn't disabled and Connor isn't suicidal.

But sometimes you have nightmares and Connor can't dream forever. Because when he's dreaming Troye's alone, blind and alone in his bedroom that would be dark even though for him things are always that unsettling shade of black.

So yeah, Connor loves to sleep because when you sleep you dream and when he's dreaming he's not sick and Troyes not blind, but that doesn't stop Connor from getting out of bed every morning at five am to walk to Troyes house and get him ready for school even though Laurelle promises she can do it.

Because even though Connors reality sucks, Troye will always be better than dreaming.

Even if his eyes aren't always that magnificent shade of blue.
