colors. pastels, bright hues, and neon lights.

in a world of nothing but black and white, metaphorically of course, Connor sees colors as feelings and labels for the things he can't understand.

his music- categorized under different paints and his favorite one is yellow. soothing sounds, soft sounds, yellow sounds.

when Connor first met Troye, Troye was white. soothing, crisp, clean.

but with the closer they got, Connor began to realize that Troye wasn't white at all. oh no, he was something much more suffocating.

a pastel blue, thick sadness and repeated melodies.

so it shocked everyone when Connor was the first of the pair to feel pink.

to feel the urge to get under his own skin, to see what he was really made of.

when Troye asked why he didn't want to breathe anymore Connor confessed that he actually hates the colors.

they blind him, distract him, they push him outside the box. he's only ever comfortable in the box.

Troye was the box and the colors where making Troye into a monster.

his pastel blue was turning into a dark, murky brown, and soon his eyes were nothing but empty orbs.

Connor wanted to stop seeing the colors, he wanted to stop seeing the colors so that maybe he'd see Troye for what he wanted to see instead of what he actually is.

maybe that's what people mean when they say that you've seen someone's "true colors". Connor didn't think black should be a color if Troye was the reason for its existing.

so the plan was simple, Connor himself would stop existing.

after all, the colors can't get you when your eyes are shut, and Connor figures you can't open your eyes ten feet underground with no air left to breathe and the world of the unknown waiting for you. possibly.

looks like Troye will have to deal with the colors all on his own.
