Based off of to see you alive by flatsound and inspired by cuddlytronnor 's oneshot 'see you alive'

When Troye first told Connor that he wrote stories on the walls of an abandoned house, Connor didn't know that his blood was the pen, that his skin were the walls and his body the abandoned home.

Creaked steps and broken bottles this boy's body was a teenage hangout, a popular make out spot, an ashtray made of gold.

Troye was the human embodiment of all things sad and all things beautiful. His name was the beginning of every love poem Connor ever wrote, the blood in his mouth when he bit his lips to hard. The feeling of being kissed and cold fingertips brushing the sides of his stomach.

Troye was a sad phone call much like the one where he apologized for being sick.

"It sucks, I miss you so much."

"I know...I'm so sorry."

Troyes eyes were the ink from a broken pen. Deep staining shades of blue that sometimes turned black. They would trace imaginary stars on Connors skin, they'd find flaws on his own that weren't really there.

Troyes lips were plump apples, red and sweet, as they'd find their way all over Connors skin, collecting stress and releasing love.

Troyes hair was made ropes of silk, soft and delicate and so touchable. Wrapping around Connors fingers and tickling his lips.

All these things made Troye a walking contradiction, because how can someone so beautiful be so sad? Why is his heart an anchor in a sea of depression? Why does his body only work when it's causing pain?

And so they tried to fix him by putting him in the dark with nothing sharp where he was only more afraid. Maybe that's why he never got better. Maybe love would have been more helpful than an institution. Maybe that's why it's Connors fault for putting him there in the first place.

But then he thinks back to that first couple of weeks in their flat up in eastern LA and he knows his love wouldn't have been enough to save him either.

And when that abandoned house full of words fell apart, when there was nothing left to destroy, Troye finally let go. He locked up the door and left it there like the sun behind the clouds.

And when Troyes mom contacted Connor and told him of the news he didn't cry sad tears. He drove himself to the morgue to see the body and as he saw the broken skin in the dim light, when he saw all cuts up and down his thighs he sighed.

Leaning down he brushed the curls off his forehead and placed a gentle kiss there.

"What a beautiful sight." He'd said as a single tear hit Troyes torn up skin.

"What a beautiful sight that it was to see you alive."
