Chapter Eleven
Jade's POV
Limang araw na ang lumipas simula nung pakikipag-usap namin kay Kyle. It's been exactly three weeks since Audrey died, and so as we are expecting that one of us might die anytime, I don't know.. but nothing's happening right now.
No letters, no clues.
Did he actually stop for good? Or for the worst is yet to come?
I'm not sure if this is a bad thing or good thing at all. Naguguluhan pa rin ako despite all of the cleared facts and questions the last time, there's something off.
"Jade!" nabalik ako sa realidad nang tawagin ako ni Skyler at ngiting-ngiti pa siya, "May good news ako." she said habang umupo sa bakanteng upuang nasa tabi ko.
"Siguraduhin mong good news yan ah," pabiro ko siyang tinaasan ng kilay, naninigurado lang talaga. Too much bad news lately, baka hindi ko na kayang mag-sink in.
"Don't worry sis, good news nga to." pinagdikit niya pa talaga iyong dalawang palad niya at mistulang tuwang-tuwa sa kaniyang sasabihin.
"Oh ano nga kasi yun?" pinaglaruan ko na lamang ang ballpen ko habang hinihintay yung sasabihin niya. Napahinga naman siya ng malalim bago muling magsalita.
"Mom and dad just bought a rest house somewhere in Tagaytay," napakunot naman ang noo ko sa narinig, "and they told me to invite you guys, the more the merrier daw eh haha."
"You're going to invite us? Are you sure of that Sky?" alanganin kong tanong sa kanya.
"Yeah, do I seem like I wasn't so sure about that? I can invite as many as I can, since they said it's too big enough to be occupied by only three people." she shrugged and then laughed at the thought. Napa-facepalm na lamang ako.
"Don't you think na makakaistorbo kami sainyo? You know, you and your family."
"Nah, they'll be away for days kaya nga gusto nilang mag-imbita ako. Binyagan ko raw. YOLO!" pagtawa niya kaya binatukan ko na lamang siya.
"Okay, sure. When is it?" I smiled and nodded.
"Saturday, and you can invite Kyle." pabugso-bugso siya sa sinasabi niya kaya nanlaki naman ang mga mata dahil doon, tama ba yung narinig ko?
"Huh?" natatawa kong tanong sa kanya, "Ano ulit yun?" napapikit ako ng ilang beses.
"I said, you can invite Kyle!" pabulong niyang sigaw sa akin.
