Once all the drama was over, I could live again. I could be happy. Very happy, actually. I was having the best day ever. For one, I got a call from a record company to set up a time that I could record a song for my new album!
"Hello?" I answered the call, unaware of how happy it would make me.
"Naomi, doll. It's Jeremy Jones, the new producer of your next album. You ever been in a recording studio before?" he replied in a Jersey accent.
"Hah, no..." I said slowly and quietly, because I knew I was about to scream in excitement and freak out the neighbors.
"Well, brace yourself, kid. Hey, we got some crazy awesome songs for you down here. Why don't you come down here on Friday, and we'll see how crazy awesome you are behind that mic?"
I was right. I screamed insanely loud.
"I'll take that as a yes. See you darling"
I started dancing around the living room crazily. I didn't even care that I tripped and bumped into the furniture a couple times! I was finally going to record my OWN album!
Drew walked in just as I fell into the chair. He started laughing at me and sat down on the couch across from me.
"Hey, don't judge! I have good reason for this!" I shouted at him.
"Did the dysfunctional circus come back to town?" he joked. I threw a pillow at him.
"No! And don't you joke about that, I think that was a 'special kids' circus..." I trailed off awkwardly. "ANYWAY! I'm going to record my first album on Friday! I just got the call from my producer!" He smiled strangely, not his usual smile. A more suspicious smile that said, "That's awesome, but..."
"What's with the face?!" I yelled. I wished I could read his mind then.
"Nothing," he said, shaking his head and laughing slightly at what he was thinking. "It's nothing. That's awesome"
"No, something's wrong. That's not your Amazing Drew smile..."
"It's just that...well, I just don't want you to turn from the Insanely-Awesome Naomi into this fame diva robot who doesn't want me anymore," he said, his lips turning into a little frown. My eyes filled with tears.
"Drew?! How could you think that?! You know that I'll ALWAYS be me, and not even a million fans could ever change that. And I will always love you! I haven't waited this long for nothing!" I shouted throwing myself in his arms. He laughed at the tackiness of my speech.
"Thank god! I was thinking I would have no choice but to go back to Margaux..."
I think he meant it to be a joke at first, but right after he said that he covered his mouth. I stood up.
"Excuse me?" I asked calmly, when inside I was exploding with questions. His face turned bright red.
"Heh, heh, did I say Margaux? Heh, because I meant...Vanessa?" he sputtered nervously. Did he think that was supposed to make me feel any better?
