Tell me what you think of this chapter! (:

Also, just so you know, if  "vanessa.hottie.123@yahoo.com" is a real email, I had no idea. So REALLY sorry about that...

 ----------

I was on my laptop, checking my email, when I saw an email from “vanessa.hottie.123@yahoo.com.” Ew. Vanessa. It was one of those stupid chain letter emails that read:

ONCE YOU START READING THIS YOU CANNOT STOP AND YOU HAVE NOW BEEN CURSED.

------SEND THIS TO TWENTY PEOPLE IN THE NEXT FIFTEEN MINUTES OR ELSE DOOM IS YOURS.

------- SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE TERRIBLY IF YOU DON’T SEND THIS.

------ LAST TIME SOMEONE DID’NT SEND THIS TO TWENTY PEOPLE WITHIN FIFTEEN MINUTES OF READING WENT OUT AFTERWARDS AND DIED IN A CAR ACCIDENT SO ***SEND NOW***

------ IF YOU DON’T YOU WILL REGRET IT LATER

I just laughed and shut my laptop.

"Naomi, it’s getting kind of late. Do you want to grab something to eat?" I heard Drew’s voice call.

"Sure. What are you thinking?" he walked into the kitchen.

"I don't care. I just kind of wanted to talk"

Talk? I thought. What does that mean? It can't be a good sign... He looked really uneasy about something.

"Okay, then we don't have to eat. I'll just grab a soda or something and we'll talk in the living room," I said, trying to keep my cool.

He left to the living room. What was he worried about? I thought. I couldn't stand when he was like this. I couldn't stand to see him upset at all.

I quickly grabbed two sodas because I knew he would want one, and walked slowly to the living room. I needed to delay this news for as long as I could.

•••

“What did you want to tell me?” I asked, hoping it didn’t have anything to do with Vanessa, although I knew it did.

“About Van—“ I made the most annoying face ever, but I don’t know why. Drew saw it and thought I was sick.

“Are you okay? Your turning kind of purple,” he asked, seeming really worried.

“No! I mean, I’m okay, I just, uhm, I brought you a soda!” I said, dumb as ever, throwing the soda at him without thinking.

“Okay, well, thanks” He smiled. “Do you know that out of everybody I know, you know the most about me?” Why did he change the subject so quickly? He must be getting ready to tell me some really bad news... What if that stupid chain letter acctually worked?

“Yeah, kind of” I smiled this cutesy smile, but it didn’t compare to his at all.

“Don’t worry, I know why you’re acting so—“

“Dumb?” I suggested, because for some reason, I didn’t want him to call me stupid. He just laughed.

“Well I have some news that you might not be so happy about” he said, kind of frowning at himself.

“What…?” I asked kind of hesitantly.

He sighed and said the seven words that I’ve been dreading ever since he told me he wanted to talk:

“Vanessa wants to move in with us”

Well that did it.

“WHAT!? Vanessa wants to WHAT?!” I screamed. I was furious!! The nerve of that—

I didn’t care. I just lost it and next thing I knew, I was passed out on the floor.

•••

After Drew woke me up, I got up and stumbled to my room, and came out with a baseball bat in my hand. Obviously I hadn’t yet come back to my senses. Drew laughed.

“What’s with the baseball bat?” he asked me like I was a five year old.

“What else? I'm gonna kill Vanessa, duh,” I muttered. I’m surprised I could even talk at all.

I almost got out the door when I fell over again.

Drew just sighed, picked me up and put me in my bed. He’s so sweet. When I woke up, Drew was beside me with a mug of hot coffee.

I just smiled at him a dreary smile, I was still kind of tired. I was speechless. Whatever just happened was a big blurry mess. But I did NOT forget what he said: “Vanessa wants to move in with us” The words echoed over and over in my head. Was he serious? He had to be kidding. I couldn’t believe it! I swear, that girl had some nerve! I had to have seen it coming. I bet Drew didn’t! I just didn’t understand it! Why did she have to do that? Why did she have to go and ruin my life?

“Thanks” I smiled. “I really appreciate all that you do for me. You’re my best friend, and I feel like I need you. I mean, I don't know what I'd do without you. I just want you to be happy, is all I'm trying to say” I guess I was still a little loopy from my blackout, because I don't think I would ever really say something that sappy if I hadn't just been unconcious.

“Then just accept that me and Vanessa are together, and I'll be happy,” he pleaded. I sighed.

“Drew, I don’t like Vanessa. I probably never will. So I don’t care if you are dating her,” which was a total lie, and didn't make much sense. “But I just don’t want to have to wake up to her everyday” This didn’t make sense to me, so I started to cry. He smiled and held me on my bed. I hugged him tightly. And then he did something that I’ve been waiting for him to do ever since I met him. He gave me a kiss on my forehead. Then he said something I would never forget.

"You know you'll never loose me, right Naomi?"

I sat there, speechless. Had he really just said that? Did he just kiss my forehead? I know one day he’ll kiss me, for real. All I have to do now is get this dumb Barbie doll out of the picture...
