Dan walked with Durga trying to talk to her as Thomas and Indu followed them.

"She is lying about the whole cousin thing, isn't it?" Thomas asked.

"Yep, she is. But she rarely lies. And why do you even care? I thought you don't like her at all" Indu replied with a chuckle.

"Yeah, I don't. But I am curious!" he said seriously looking at Durga.

They were out of the campus area and were walking towards the bus stand. Dan and Tom had bikes but they used to be with their girls, till they reached  the bus stand. They considered it their duty. Although Durga thought they were simply showing off which led to another quarrel between Thomas and her. Both Dan and Indu used to get irritated with their daily quarrels but they did mend up quickly which was a bit peculiar.

As they were walking to the bus stop, they could hear some boys and girls having fun, joking and laughing. The four of them looked at them. They were unknown to them except for the small gang of Maurima and her friends.

As soon as Maurima spotted the small group, she glared at Daniel. Daniel glared back and clenched his fists in anger. Durga held Dan's arm tightly to not let him do anything stupid and get into trouble.

She studied all the people in that group. The boys had bikes and were dressed up like local rowdies. They laughed at Durga. Dan and Thomas were standing at Durga's sides and Indu was hiding behind Thomas.

"Hey, look at that small one. Good lord, I think she can handle the two big guys very well" one of the men commented. The other men laughed understanding what he meant but Maurima's group was unable to figure out so they simply faked their laughter.

Durga glared at the boy and noticed a guy signaling something at Indu.

"Look who we have here! The smartest students of our batch!" Maurima mocked as her friends joined her. The small group of four tried their best to ignore them. Durga led them to the shelter of the bus stop as she held onto Dan's and Thomas's arms.

As they were away from the group's sight, Durga quickly turned to face Indu and watched her carefully with a serious look on her face.

"What happened?" Thomas asked with a confused look.

"Indu, don't think I didn't notice, who is that guy?" she demanded an answer. Indu did not say anything and remained silent.

"I saw him signaling you something and I know whatever he signaled, you didn't like it. So, care to tell me whether you know him or not?" Durga asked as she held her shoulders tightly.

"No, n-no I don't know him" she answered back angrily.

Durga stared at her face for a while and then a clicked her tongue like Sahaya, a habit she had picked up from him.

"Okay fine, but you will tell me when these two idiots are not with us, alright?" she asked. She remained silent at her question and looked away from the group.

Soon the bus arrived and the two girls boarded the bus.

Durga went home thinking about the incident that had happened and she was pretty sure that there was something going on with Indu which she was hiding. She had never seen Indu so stressed out and angry like she had seen her that day. She was confused but she also did not wish to bring up the matter again and again and cause any discomfort to her.

She was desperate to know what the matter was but, at the same time she decided it was best to let her tell her everything when she felt comfortable. Forcing someone was something Durga never liked, nor did she like it being done on her. She tried to forget about it and get back to her normal life.
