I woke up not feeling that great; bad headache from the wine maybe? I went to get up and the room was spinning so I let myself fall back into bed, curling up on my side and hoping I didn't hurl. I didn't know where Dimitri was so I tried to get up again and succeeding this time I picked up his shirt, put it on and went downstairs. Marco was there but no Dimitri. I went straight for the coffee, made some and waited, pinching the bridge of my nose I sighed drawing Marco's attention. "Carina are you alright?" he asked concerned. I went to say something and started to have a massive nosebleed. "Fuck!" I said grabbing for a towel and holding my head back. Marco got me to a chair and had me sit down. He looked concerned. "Have you ever had these before?" he asked. "Yes" I mumbled. "What caused it?" he asked. "I have a calcium deficiency and I had been taking doctor prescribed calcium but I ran out and I guess I didn't think about seeing Dr. Malikov about it." "You need to see him as soon as we get home" he said pushing it. "I will, I will" I said irritated. "I'm going to take a shower and get packed up. Where is Dimitri?" I asked. "He had one more potential investor to talk to. He'll be back soon" Marco said.
I finished my shower and had gotten dressed for the trip home; I chose black skinny dress pants, a black silk dress shirt and my black heels; light makeup and put my hair into a high ponytail, got my stuff packed and carried it downstairs. Dimitri blew in the door cussing like a sailor. I had never seen him that mad so I stayed away while he went upstairs. I had him all packed but I left the suitcase on the bed in case he wanted to change clothes. I was in the kitchen tossing down a few Advil when I heard him talking to Marco in hushed tones. All I heard was what the fuck and for God's sake and then he was standing in front of me with my bloodied towel. "Jesus Carina" he said holding the towel. "It looks like someone was murdered" he ran his hands through his hair. "Di it's not a big deal. I have a calcium deficiency that's it. I will see the doc when we get home" I stated. "You bet your ass you will." He was angry with me. I didn't want him to see me well up so I turned and walked into the other room, grabbed my sunglasses, sat down and was busy pretending to be on my phone when it rang. "Carina Alexandrov" I said. The voice on the other end was talking. "Hey Gregori (Zeus' manager). What's up?" The voice continued. "Call Gregor over at Fusion and he can give you the supplier, I'm out of town." Gregori said something else. "No worries that's what I'm here for. Sure talk to you soon" I said hanging up. Dimitri and Marco disappeared again so I stepped out for a smoke, my nerves were frayed. I just stood looking at the Eiffel Tower, it looked different in the light but still beautiful.
"What's got you so pissed off?" Marco asked Dimitri. Dimitri shook his head and said "That asshole Ivan Yurmov got wind of the club here and wanted to invest. I told him to fuck off. He wasn't happy." Marco looked concerned. "Be careful of him Dimitri" he warned. "I know" said Dimitri just as concerned. Someone needed to put him in his place. He was a small-time hood trying to play in the big leagues; he wanted someplace to launder his drug money; Dimitri didn't do drugs or business with those that did, it was bad for his legit businesses. "Let's go, I'm ready to get home" Dimitri said going to find Carina.
The ride to the airstrip was quiet as was getting out of the car and getting on the plane. Carina sat down and buckled up, sunglasses still on and leaning her head back against the seat she tried to dose off but her head was still hurting. As soon as they got in the air she was going to lay down and maybe that would help. She'd been diagnosed with migraines a long time ago and wondered if they were making a comeback as well. Shit balls she thought, just what I need. Finally after getting in the air the pilot gave the all clear and Carina unbuckled and headed to the bedroom. She walked past Dimitri and didn't say a thing and shut the door behind her; she threw her heels off and curl up in a ball hugging a pillow, it was dark in there so maybe that would do the trick.
Dimitri watched Carina walk past him and go into the bedroom. He did come down on her pretty hard. He sighed, got up and walked in the direction that Carina went and opened the door. She was laying on her side facing away from the door. He started to turn around and leave when her pained voice spoke out. "Please lay down with me." He didn't wait to be asked again, he discarded his shirt, shoes and socks, crawling on bed lying his front to her back, he put his arms around her waist pulling her to him. She wrapped her hands around him and hoped sleep would come easy.
