Nina's povSomething's wrong.
I suddenly and violently awoke as a feeling of dread came over me. It was like a bug slowly crawling up my back. I looked around the room to find Jax peacefully sleeping next to me and a soft storm brewing over head.
Something's wrong.
I tried to push the thought down and go back to sleep but found I couldn't move my body. I was stuck upright looking out of the large window infront of the bed.
Something's wrong.
It was like a song repeating over and over in my head. Suddenly the trees whipped against the window smashing the glass sending harsh winds, tree branches, and glass my way. However even as all this happened I couldn't move.
The screams of Jax faded into the background as I slowly got out of bed and made my way toward the window. He would heal. He would live. I listen to the voice as I jumped out of the window and into the woods.
I expected to hear the chanting again but didn't instead it was replaced with a desire to hunt. To kill. As I ran through the trees the storm seemed to pick up and rain dropped toward the ground at lightening speed.
Suddenly my teeth began to throb and pulse. I lift my hand to feel them only to be cut by the sharp teeth that replace mine. My desire to kill picked up as I smelt the blood of every animal around me. I smelt their fear and anxiety.
I felt my nails changing as I picked up speed to a place unknown. I couldn't control myself as I let out a fierce growl. I began to shake like a leaf in the wind.
It's time my dear.
I couldn't understand what the voice meant before an excruciating pain traveled from my skull, down my spine, and to my feet. I dropped to my knees as I struggled to breathe.
I was shifting. I knew it would be painful but not like this. I couldn't think straight as I closed my eyes and took deep breathes. I closed my eyes as I felt the wind pick up and the raining stop. Open your eyes and see what you were destined to become.
I listened to the voice and opened my eyes. I could see everything. From the water traveling through the veins of a leaf to the small ants running toward dry land. I looked down to see black paws.
Black. It had never been heard of for a female wolf to be black. The usual colors were brown, ginger, and occasionally white, but never black. Even the males who had black fur had a mix of white in it. From what I could see I was all black.
Suddenly a loud and angry growl rang throughout the forest. Mine. It was Aaron. I got up and ran as fast as I could toward the direction it came from. I crossed onto the Warriors territory. I felt the pull of the territory border but kept pushing and broke through it.
I kept going until I came upon a hill where about 20 rogues surround a limp wolf. There was a fairly large one that was in the middle standing over the dying wolf. I inhaled deeply and found that the dying wolf was my mate.
The wolves turned to look at me as I felt the overwhelming desire to kill return. A flash back of my parents death came to my mind and I let out a roar so loud the ground seemed to shake. It wasn't a desire to kill anymore but an assurance that their death would be slow and excruciatingly painful.
Time to play.
