Broken - Chapter 25

I awoke to an empty bed. There was a small note stating Aaron went to monitor the training. I lay back in bed and thought about all that's happened over time.

I was shaken out of my thoughts as Jax strolled into the room and jumped onto the bed. He took most of the covers as he rolled himself up like a burrito and looked at me. It was quite funny to see such a large man in the roll of covers.

I smirked as I quickly pushed him off the bed and took off down the stairs. "Nina! Get back here. Oh when I catch you, you'll be sorry!" I ran faster out of the house as I heard him gaining speed.

I ran through a crowd of pack members hoping to lose him but heard his heavy footsteps as we got closer to the train fields. I let out a scream as his hand grazed my back. I guess people thought we were serious as they tried to stop Jax.

I located Aaron on the opposite side of the field looking at us with a bored expression. I rushed over to him but was tackled by none other than Jax. It hurt a lot more than I thought it would as he lay all his weight on me.

"Uh get off fatty I can't breathe." I was oddly serious as my windpipe started to close at the large weight put on my upper back. He didn't budge as I began to panic and frantically scratch at him to move. Suddenly his weight was lifted off of me as I took a deep breathe anger filling my veins.

I got up to see pack members holding Jax back, his wolf on the surface. I ran up to him and pushed him as members let him go. The push was harder than expected as he fell straight on his ass. "You could've killed me you idiot. I told you I couldn't breathe."

He shrugged as he got back up, that seemed to piss my wolf off to no ends as I kicked him in the back causing him to fall forward. He quickly got up, his wolf fully in control, as he growled and stepped towards me.

My wolf let out a growl just as fierce as I felt my nails come out. Jax turned and stepped onto a mat signaling me to a challenge, of what I had no idea, but my wolf accepted. As I stepped onto the mat he tried to swipe at me but I quickly dodged it and sent a jab to his face.

He continued to try to hit me but I dodged them and moved around on the mat. I noticed people had formed a crowd as Aaron stood, waiting for a signal to jump in. I quickly swiped at Jax landing on his chest as blood dripped onto the mat. He shift into his wolf and charged straight at me.

I jumped out of the way just in time and shifted into my black wolf. She let out a roar as she took over and started repeatedly bitting and scratching at Jax. He seemed to be struggling to block my advances and my wolf took that as a time to aim for a kill strike.

She latched onto his throat as she violently shook her head aiming to snap his neck. She released him in the nick of time and flung his limp form onto the edge of the mat as she threw her head back and let out a victory howl. The others seemed to agree as some shifted and howled too while other remained in human form letting out hoots and cheers.

Jax's wolf bowed his head in submission as my wolf trotted over to him. She put her paw on his head and then used her nose to raise his head. He'd learned his lesson so there was no need to prolong the embarrassment. He licked the side of my head as he lay back onto the mat letting out a deep breath.

My wolf gave me back control as I turned to look at Aaron. He had a look I couldn't understand on his face as he turned away towards the packhouse. I tried to catch up with him but was stopped a number of times to be pet by pack members, claiming to have never seen an all black wolf.

I made it to the pack house and went into the room to see Aaron handing me some clothes. I took them into my mouth and went into one of the empty rooms and changed.
