Epilogue

18 years later

"Dad hurry up! Get the hell off of me Sapphire."

"Oh come on you know you love me, why you playing baby?"

I push her off of me and she falls onto couch laughing. I turn and slip on my hoodie as dad comes rushing don't the steps. "Okay, okay. Don't kill me. Everyone ready to go?"

I can see Sapphire roll her eyes as she kissed dad on the cheek before walking out of the house. I wrap an arm around his shoulders as we slowly follow her out.

As we walk through the grass, flowers seem to turn and greet her. The sun shines down on her and the animals all stop and stare at her.

Sapphire had finally devolved her powers and was training with uncle Noah to discover her true power. I was taking over the pack this year as Alpha and Dad would take some time to travel like he'd always wanted.

The first couple years were hard for him, but mom would always visit us in our dreams. I could tell that really helped him. I'd never got to see what she looked like but I could hear her voice. I had memories of her but I wanted to actually see her.

That's where we're going now. Sapphire was officially the next enfant des loups so mom could visit us anytime, but wanted to meet in a clearing to see Sapphire's powers.

As we neared the clearing I could feel my heart pick up. From what dad told me, I was always the closest to my mother. I still feel her kiss me goodnight sometimes, but everytime I open my eyes she's never there.

"Stop daydreaming loser and move out of the way!" I quickly step to the side of the clearing as Sapphire closes her eyes. A large white light appears before she's there. I feel my heart skip a beat as she stands there smiling at us.

My mother was absolutely beautiful. She had on a long white gown that looked like the most expensive silk known to man. Her hair flowed down her back in soft waves and there was a bright halo over her head, but her grey eyes stood out the most.

"Look at my beautiful family." Dad was the first to make a move as he rushed to her and hugged her. I could hear him softly sob as Sapphire rushed over next. I wanted to join but couldn't will my feet to move.

A long time ago I'd come to terms that my mother was dead but here, now, she looked as if she was alive. That she never left us.

"Mommy" I whispered, feeling the sting of tears in my eyes. She slowly made her way over to me. She's dead. She's gone. My mind replayed those phrases as I stared at her. Her eyes held pride and love as she stared at me.

"Archer. My baby. Look at you. Come here." That was all I needed as I rushed into her arms. I expected the hug to feel empty but as warmth poured through my body, I couldn't control the sobs that escaped my mouth. I felt her squeeze me tighter as she placed kisses to my head.

"It's okay baby, I'm here. I'm here." I felt Sapphire and dad join the hug and in that moment I knew everything would be okay, at least for now.

"Okay baby, show me what you got." Mom had been showing Sapphire different things while dad and I watched. It was amazing to see the power they possessed and I knew Sapphire would be something great.

I watched as she shot fire balls out, ice spears, and rays of light. I watched as animals flocked to be at her side. I watched as flowers grew when she touched the ground.

Sapphire was something special. "And so are you Archer." I looked up to see her holding a pink rose out to me. A sign of appreciation. I couldn't keep the smile off my face as I took the flower. She smiled before turning back to mom.

I watched as they played around with different things. I turned to see dad staring at them in admiration. As I looked down at the Rose I couldn't help but notice as it seemed to turn to me.

Life was amazing, even if it was just for now.
