"You can't just run there and try to fight her! That's a suicide mission!"
"I don't care! She fucked with my children, Noah, and I'm going to make her wish she'd rethought her decision."
I walked out of the kitchen and up the stairs. Noah was trying to convince me not to fight the witch but I couldn't; she crossed the line.
I stopped by the twins room to see them sleeping peacefully. Due to their Alpha blood, there were no scars left behind. We figured that Sapphire was attacked first with a simple blow to the head but Archer had many cuts on his face, throat and chest.
I had spoken with the mother of wolves and she placed a protection spell on the twins and Aaron. I didn't let her place one on me because I was going to use myself to bait the witch here so I could strike.
"Mommy." I turned around to see Archer sitting up in bed. I slowly walked closer and picked him up.
"I sorry mommy. I 'possed to protect sissy but I did not." He whimpered into my shoulder as he began to softly sob.
"Baby, you did an amazing job. Look at her, she's alive because her big brother protected her." He stared at his sister before looking back at me.
"What about you mommy? I didn't protect you mommy." He stared at me, sadness and sorrow in his eyes. It broke my heart to have my son face these kinds of challenges at such a young age.
"Mommy can protect herself. I protect you guys and you protect each other, okay?" He nods, places a kiss to my cheek, before climbing back into bed with his sister.
I exit the room and go lay in my bed. Aaron is out helping with training and other Alpha duties. I feel a sting in my eyes and try to stop them, but as hot tears stream down my face, I lose control.
Sobs leave my mouth as my body begins to shake. I wrap my hands over my mouth to quiet myself down as my body acts on its own. I squeeze my eyes shut, willing the tears to stop but they seem to race harder down my cheeks.
I hear the door burst open and smell Aaron as he wraps his arms around me, pulling me into his chest. The sobs get louder as my body rapidly shakes and I clutch onto him. He whispers sweet nothings into my ear as he rubs my back.
After what felt like an eternity, the tears stopped and my body calmed down. I felt Aaron tighten his grip on me as he placed kisses to my forehead and the top of my head.
"Everything's going to be fine." He whispers into my ear. I shake my head. Everything's not going to be okay.
"As long as we're together, everything will be fine. Let me handle this witch situation, you just take care of our children. We have her location and a couple fellow witches have agreed to help. Everything will be fine. Just fine."
I shake my head again. Everything's not going to be fine. I know, but I clutch onto him and let my body finally rest.
-
"To get her here we'll have to use our powers against each other and then you hit me. I'll stop my heart and make it seem like I'm dead and she'll come to collect my body." Noah says as we make our way into a clearing a couple miles north of the packhouse.
I nod as I ready myself for what is to come. I made sure to kiss Aaron and the kids long and hard before I left.
We enter the clearing and I take a deep breathe. "I know we haven't known each other long, but it was nice having a sibling for a little while."
He looked at me funny. Even he didn't know. I gave a smile and felt my hands heat. He gave a nod as we both pushed our hands together.
There was fire, sparks, and a bright white light that shot all around the clearing. It seemed as if we were in a completely different place as the ground began to shake, the sky became so dark it almost looked black, and the wind began howling.
