Stefan's P.O.V

I pulled Lacey through the double doors, she was wincing and placing her free hand over her bleeding neck trying to stop the blood. Tears poured from her eyes like a waterfall, her green eyes bloodshot and swollen.

"I said, calm down." I growled, as I lead her across the empty car park. She was crying like a maniac now.

"Please, just let me go. I don't want any trouble. I won't tell anyone what you are." Lacey whined, trying to loosen the grip I had on her arm with her elbow.

"And what am I? Hm? What exactly do you think I am?" I shouted at her, she swallowed a lump in her throat.

"You d-drink b-blood. Like a v-v-vampire." Lacey stuttered, tears a red blood started to stain her beautiful blue dress.

"Correct, we are vampires. And if I didn't just get you out of there then Camilla would've definitely killed you right on the spot. You should be thanking me." I spat, I could feel her piercing green eyes glaring at me.

"I should be thanking you? Why? You were going to kill me! I don't know why you decided not to, but you were going to! Why should I be thanking you? What did you actually do!" She screamed at me, pulling her arm out of my grip.

"I saved you from being killed, something about you... You need to be protected. Now that you know what they are, there is a chance they'll come after you. Now shut it while I take you to my house. It's in a different part of Virginia." I replied sourly, forcing open a locked car door.

"No! I'm not leaving my sister! Are you stupid? She's eight years old! And my friend is in that bar, I have to save him!" Lacey turned around and started to head for the bar again. I growled and pulled her back.

"Leave your friend, they'll wonder where you are and come out looking for you. Besides, you can't go in there again." I ordered, pushing her into the passengers seat. She got out and slapped me around the face.

"I'm not getting into a stolen car! Just use mine! But we are getting my sister first, I will get my phone from my house and call my friend, Callum. he deserves to know that vampires own that bar!" Lacey chucked me her car keys and pointed to a white Fiat. I rolled my eyes and followed her to the car.

"I'll drive." I decided, opening the door to the drivers seat. Lacey hopped into the passengers seat, and started to direct me to her house.

"So you left an eight year old girl in a house all by herself?" I asked, turning into her road. Lacey shook her wad immediately.

"No, no, no. I hired a babysitter for her. Oh, just pull over here." She replied, pointing in the direction of where I should pull over. I stepped on the breaks, shut the engine off and parked the car. Lacey opened the door and steppes out, quickly running to her house. I could just pick up the sound of her pressing the door bell multiple times. Suddenly I remember that Lacey wanted to ring her Callum friend and tell him about vampires.

I shot out of the car and vampire sped to Lacey's side just as an older looking woman opened the door. Her hair was light brown with a few grey hairs here and there.

"Miss Matthews, I wasn't expecting you for another hour. Why are you home early?" She asked Lacey. Suddenly she turned her attention to me. "Oh, I'm sorry. I think I understand." Lacey rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"No, no. Stefan is just a friend. Um, how much do I owe you?" Lacey asked, quickly rushing indoors to get some more money.

"Twenty will do." The woman replied, Lacey quickly slipped some money out of an envelope and gave it to the woman.
