"Stay here." Katherine hissed thoroughly as she skipped to the door. I obeyed her command and marked my spot, stupidly. Why did I even listen to her?

Suddenly, she skipped back into the room, smiling her face off. She flicked her curly hair over her shoulders and span her back towards me. I raised an eyebrow at her curiously.

"What?" I asked, knowing her grin was most likely even wider whilst her back was turned.

"She's here." Katherine's reply was simple yet effective. A pit in my stomach grew even deeper as too many thoughts and feelings rush through my mind. Who could this woman be? Was she a threat? Dangerous? Was she going to kill me? I quickly shut myself up and focused on the door way.

A young woman, short dark haired with tanned skin and bright green eyes stormed through the door about ten seconds later. She decreased her beautiful pale blue dress and made eye contact with Katherine, then swooped her eyes over to meet mine. "Elena Gilbert, it's an honour." I felt like a Princess, she might have well have greeted me with a gracious curtsy too. I smiled at her before she introduced herself. "I'm Kelly, I'll just be performing a simple little spell on you for Katherine and we can all be on our merry way."

"She's in transition, will that effect the spell?" Katherine asked with a twang of hope in her silk like voice. Kelly stood still for a little while, clenching her grimoire tightly between her arms and her stomach.

"I should think not, as long as she's still pretty much human and not a full vampire. I don't see why it wouldn't work." Kelly explained, "but it might be a little trickier because I'll have to summon the side of her that now exists on the other side as well as this one. So in theory it will just take longer, hopefully."

"Can someone please explain to me what is going on? What do you need from me?" I cut in, almost snapping at the two of them. Katherine rolled her eyes subconsciously.

"I've discovered a way that could make me truly immortal. No more running. I wouldn't have anything to fear. Since the full moon isn't for like three weeks and there's no freaking moon stone nearby, I'm drawing the power from the doppelganger line to do so." She grinned, rather impressed with her research. Now it was my turn to roll my eyes.

"You just won't stop, will you? Why aren't you happy with being immortal now? Sure, you can die. But you've survived pretty damn easily for five hundred years already..." I bit my tongue, knowing her reply as soon as I'd finished speaking.

"That's it, though. I don't want to run anymore, I don't get out of breath, I don't need to rest. I just need to feed and get going. The only problem with running for me is all the worn out heels I've wasted. Oh, and I want n actual life now. Surely after giving birth in a wedlock, having your baby girl ripped away from you, surviving the death of your entire family and running from someone more powerful than you for five hundred years... You'd want a break too, Elena. So excuse me for thinking about myself yet again but that's pretty much all I have left at the moment." Katherine lapsed into depth detail of her life, making me regret my words. "Now, let's get this over with."

Kelly grabbed my hand and wiped a knife across my palm, causing me to gasp in pain as she drew blood in a deep, straightly lined cut. She turned my palm over so the blood dripped into a small chalice that to my guesses would be containing Katherine's blood as well as mine a little bit later.

"Oh and Elena, there's a slight chance you won't survive this." Kelly told me subtly like it was no big deal. By eyes bulged open as I pulled my hand out of her grasp.

"What? Why?" I almost yelled.

"Well, you're in transition. That makes you weaker than even when you were human. Your body is weakening by the second so if we used you for a spell that will only require more energy from you, weakening your body even quicker." Kelly explained gently. I shook my head, I couldn't die, leave Jeremy, Damon, Stefan... Matt, Caroline, Bonnie... Ric, everyone! Just because Katherine wanted to be a little more immortal than she already was. No. No way! I quickly thought over the ways I could possibly get out of this. Then it hit me. I glanced over at the knife that Kelly had put aside.
