Elena's P.O.V
Dear Diary,
Today is a new day but tomorrow I'll hopefully be free. Free to march out of this house and head straight for the boarding house. I don't care if I see Stefan, to be honest I do want to see him. I've missed him, and from what I've heard, all he's done is annoy the hell out of Damon. Damon, I miss him so goddamn much... But I'm managing, I didn't really think about him at all yesterday after dinner, which I guess is an accomplishment. I wonder if he's thought about me since the accident... I doubt it, his anger must be seething through him with all this Stefan business that he doesn't have time to deal with me. I think he will be able to handle Stefan, he sounds like a little trouble maker now but Damon is probably the only person who can deal with that considering he has been with Stefan since he was born in 1847.
I know why Damon hasn't replied, but it agitates me. I just want a reply... Is that so much to ask? I really need to just shut up and stop complaining. It's obvious I can't leave the house, I just need to forget Damon for now. I'm going to stick to my word this time. No more needy Elena, I will do this. Only another day. I can definitely handle that.
I leaned back on my my window sill and breathed out heavily, why was this so damn hard? What I would normally say was that I should get on with my life for now, but I really didn't have a life whilst I was stuck in this house for another day or so.
"Elena! Caroline's here!" Alaric shouted, his sudden voice made me jump a little, and nearly made me fall off the window sill.
"OK! Coming!" I shouted back and wedged my slippers onto my feet for no reason what so ever and ran down the stairs as fast as I could in the fluffy bunny monstrosities. There at the bottom of the stairs, Caroline was standing in killer high heels, black jeans, a simple white T-shirt and in her left hand was a small little pet carrier. I froze, she had bought the kitten.
"Elena! Hey I got Ebony!" She squealed, trying not to shake the pet carrier too much. My eyes softened as I saw the tiniest little black kitten try and poke its head through the cross over plastic bars.
"Oh my God... She's adorable!" I squealed back as I poked my finger through the bars. A tiny paw immediately wacked my finger playfully. I felt like I could melt... The kittens eyes were fully of love and bubbly playful energy. Why couldn't I have one?
"I know right! She slept on my bed last night! Do we have to give her to Bonnie?" Caroline moaned, I giggled and nodded. Unfortuantely, Bonnie would be owning this kitten in a matter of few hours, not us.
"Eek! Let's take her to the living room, we can get her out the little carrier!" Caroline started to squeal again. She nearly hopped into the living room with joy. Caroline threw her handbag onto the couch and kneeled down on the floor with the pet carrier in front of her. She delicately unhooked the tiny locks and opened the plastic door. Nothing happened, she carefully tilted up the carrier and I caught a glimpse of the tiny black furball clinging to the back of the box. My heart melted for a second time as the kitten's gentle eyes glowed brightly to the contrast of its dark mesmerizing fur. "Aw! It's okay, sweety. Out you come." Caroline's hand timidly crept into the carrier and retrieved the kitten. She was almost the size of Caroline's palm, a tiny little thing curled up in fear right in the centre of her soft hand.
"Can I hold her?" I asked after a certain amount of time I'd spent gazing at the tiny creature. Caroline nodded and smiled as she handed me the tiny kitten. Her big yellow eyes gazed into mine as she released a tiny yelp that I understood as a meow. "Hello there, aha. You're adorable!" I told the kitten, she licked her lips and tilted her head to the side. Her pupils were dilated which only made her even more cute.
