Caroline's P.O.V
"Here you go, Miss." A different shop assistant from earlier handed me the tiny cat carrier I'd stubbornly purchased just to bring the bundle of fur to Bonnie's house. I took it and smiled at her, even though I really disliked her... I had forgotten to ask Elena for the money for the food, so I bought it myself. I also didn't really want to go over to the Boarding house to visit the emotionless brother and the angry brother and ask them for money for toys and accessories. So I put all the money I could find towards it all. If I found out Bonnie's birthday was really in November I think I'd actually rip out my fangs and jam them in my eyes. Okay, I was lying but come on..! I was a patient person, but there was only so much I could take, and this was seriously passing my wide boundaries, the assistant was telling me everything I needed to know about taking care of a cat. I couldn't compel her to shut up, I could smell the vervain coffee on her breath as she yabbered on about litter boxes. This wasn't even my kitten, it was going to Bonnie... Maybe I'd get bonus points if I kidnapped this woman and bought her to Bonnie's so she could bore her with nonsense... No, Caroline stop being mean.
"Look, I'm on a tight schedule. And this pet shop should've closed about..." I glanced down at my bright phone screen, noticing I had a text from Elena. Ignoring the urge to open the message, I focused on the time. "Nearly ten minutes ago."
The shop assistant rolled her eyes at me, she knew what I was hinting at: 'Please shut up'. She grumpily walked over to the door and flipped the open sign over to closed, sticking out her arm to let me leave. I nodded and smiled at her grumpy face as I walked out the door. Boy, was I glad I'd spoken up.
Next on my list was to trick Bonnie in to coming to Elena's house, it was going to be my house but Elena can't leave hers... Easy!
Bonnie's P.O.V
This spell was impossible for me to learn. I had managed to get to grips of the basic outline of it, but I just couldn't control all the power that was pulsing through me as I hit the main part of the spell. Since my Dad quit his old job, he didn't need his study anymore. He had given me the permission to turn it into a magic practicing room, but when guests were visiting our cover was a home gym (We kept a rowing machine and weights and stuff in the cupboard). Our plan was solid proof, as long as no one went in to the cupboard that would be containing my witch stuff. My phone buzzed on the little table beside me, I dropped my magic and as my eyes flung open I just caught a glimpse of the candles being blown out as I cut off the spell. I grabbed my phone and saw Caroline's display picture, it was a goofy photo of her making a silly face with Elena and Matt on our first day of sophomore year. Caroline had had a massive go at me for keeping this photo, Elena and Matt were both smiling, she hadn't listened to what kind of photo I wanted to take. So she decided to grab her ears and stretch them out, crossing her eyes and sticking out her tongue.
"Hey Care." I smiled even though Caroline couldn't see me.
"Bonnie! Okay I need you to come to Elena's tomorrow! You, me, Matt, and Tyler are going to try make her feel better about not being able to speak to Damon and everything." I rolled my eyes, of course Caroline would have thought of that idea.
"Sure, I'd love to help her." My smile grew even wider. Nothing was more important than helping my friends, especially friends in Elena's position. She was hit by a car, fed vampire blood and then hit by another car also known as Damon Salvatore who was being an egotistical jerk to her. I rolled my eyes at the thought of him, he made my skin crawl. I mean, don't get me wrong. Damon can be a nice guy, he just needed the right motivation.
"Eek! Great, see you at Elena's at twelve tomorrow!" Caroline squealed and hung up. I rolled my eyes again, right. I placed my phone back on the little table and began the spell again. I wouldn't be satisfied until I'd mastered it, it would be extremely handy for someone living a life like mine.
Hm.
Damon's P.O.V
"Stefan. Where the hell at you?!" I yelled, anger creeping up in my voice. Stefan was definitely in the house. I was sure of it, his whereabouts was still a mystery. A very annoying mystery. If he was the most mature seventeen year old in the world he wouldn't be playing hide and seek.
Grow up, Stefan. Seriously.
I hadn't checked Lacey and Sky's room because I was pretty sure he wasn't with them. I only had one other option of Stefan's whereabouts in this house... Please, can't I just find out he's at the Grill? I sulkily slammed the last bedroom door shut and trudged my way down the stairs, dreading seein Stefan because I knew exactly where he was and exactly what he would be doing. I walked down into the basement, and there he was. My little brother feasting away at one of my blood bags.
Greedy little basta...
"Stefan. What. The. Heck. Couldn't you at least ask?!" I moaned like a seven year old, Stefan looked up and grinned at me.
"Oh come on, I don't get mad when you steal my blood." He teased.
I rolled my eyes. "I don't eat squirrels, Stefan. Why don't you go do that instead, now step away from my blood." I growled. I hated it when people went throw my things. Even Elena made me cringe when she innocently looked through my drawers for something as stupid as bluetack.
"I don't drink animal blood anymore, brother. I'm a one hundred percent human blood drinker." Stefan stated, as if I'd hurt his feelings. As if he had any...
"More like human bloodaholic." I spat. Stefan rolled his eyes at me.
"When you've been on animal blood as long as I have, you need to get used to a different type of blood." Stefan explained. Yeah, sure Stefan. What ever you say.
"Well, get back on the squirrels before you blood-bank rupt me." I scowled at him. He was so annoying with no emotions, I wanted to slap that smirk straight off of his face.
"Oh and, Damon. About earlier, you're right. I should be happy that Bonnie is trying hard to help me." Stefan got up and met my gaze. I nodded in appreciation. "But the thing is. I don't need help." Stefan moved a little closer.
"Stefan. Shut the hel-" before I even had time to finish my sentence something had made contact with my chest. My vampire senses didn't like it at all. I gasped for air as I glanced down, a wooden stake was being wedged into my stomach by my little brother. I cried in pain as I fell to my knees.
"I told you, to stop." Stefan kicked me. "Telling me." He kicked me again. "What." Again. "To." And again. "DO!" The last kick was extremely painful. Stefan still had his thick boots on and his newly founded vampire strength from drinking all that blood. I couldn't even get up. I couldn't move. Suddenly Stefan grabbed my shoulders and dragged me along the basement's tiny hall and threw me into one of the pointlessly empty cells. He locked the door as I heard a metalic click from the blots on the door.
Crap. He was going crazy.
"You're going to stay in here until you've learnt your lesson." I could just make out Stefan's grin through my blurry vision.
"Oh come on, who's being the Daddy figure now?" I spat, Stefan walked off.
The thing I remembers was the silent 'clip-clop' of Stefan's shoes as he walked up the stairs, and the feeling of the cold stone floor as I passed out.
