Elena's P.O.V
I quickly scanned the room, finding that three men were staring at me in three different ways; Stefan's expression had a hint of guilt to his already grief stricken posture. Alaric's expression was pure worry and concern, I'm guessing it was for me. Finally, Damon's entire figure was broken looking and I could sense a tiny hint of fear amongst the ball of emotions rolling around inside him. My eyes softened at the sight of all three of them. They were absolutely petrified and I had no idea why.
I tried to force my brain to function through what had happened before I'd blacked out... Wait, why had I blacked out? I moved my eyes from left to right over and over again, thinking over how I had fallen unconscious.
"I... Err I came here for Damon. That's it. He was in danger... Danger and, Stefan. Stefan's humanity is off." I muttered, my head snapped to the direction of the youngest Salvatore. Only even more emotion was plastered over his face... Were they back on then? Slowly, Stefan crept towards me, his eye watering again.
"E-Elena, how do you feel?" He stuttered, his eyebrows mopped together sympathetically. I shrugged, for dramatic effect I lingered my hand over my stomach as I replied.
"A little hungry... I have a pain in my neck... I feel a little sick too. Need I go on?" I joked. Stefan's tense posture relaxed a little, my guess was that me making a little joke made him feel more okay about the situation... But what exactly was that situation? I muffled my eyebrows together and gave him a confused look. He quickly grabbed me by the hand, giving it a small tight squeeze and delaying himself before he spoke.
"Elena... Do you remember what happened?" He asked seriously. I started to feel a warm feeling in the pit of my stomach, it started out feeling nice... But gradually it started to get more and more intense, making me feel sick. I was feeling worried, maybe even a little scared too.
"That's what I'm trying to figure out, your emotions... They're back, aren't they?" I questioned, trying to make sense of everything. Stefan looked to the floor for a little while and then back to me, his emotion filled, leafy green eyes glowing and making everything around him seem dull and colourless.
"Elena, do you remember how I got them back? Think..." He mumbled into his hand before resting it back on his knee. I obeyed his demand and started to rack my brain again, going through everything I could remember.
Damon had been in danger, I'd come to help him, Stefan had tried to get rid of me and... And he... He had killed me. He snapped my bare with his bare hands...
My eyes bulged open as I turned my head slowly towards Stefan, then to Damon and then to Alaric, I'd realised something else....
"I'm dead, aren't I? Stefan... You killed me!" I screamed. A hurt expression smacked Stefan round the face, his eyes watering even more as tear after tear trailed down his masculine cheekbones and dripping off his chin as he was too ashamed of himself to even wipe then away.
"Elena, I can't even begin to tell you how sorry I am..." He muttered slowly, daring to lock his leafy eyes to my chocolate ones. I was lost for words, flabbergasted...
I was so certain that I'd be in and out of the Boarding within a maximum of twenty minutes, maybe even a half hour.
I was so certain I would enter that house a human and exit as a human, a human with the man that I loved right by my side.
I was so certain that I'd be able to look past this evil, twisted Stefan and maybe even dig into his soul, unlock his humanity again...
I guess... I guess I did do that last part, but in my imagination I was doing all that as a human. I wanted to leave that house with Damon, leaving emotionless Stefan behind... Bringing humanity Stefan with me. I wanted to leave that house as a human.
