Elena's P.O.V
"You hungry?" Damon asked as he strolled into the kitchen, opening up random cupboards.
"No, I'm fine thanks." I replied, sitting down on the couch and flinging my feet up in the air. The couch was incredibly comfy, no wonder Alaric didn't mind sleeping on it every night. I wouldn't mind at all.
"Alrighty, I'm going to go to mine quickly to get a blood bag. I might change my jacket too." He decided, picking up his leather jacket hanging on the pegs at the front door.
"Okay, bye!" I said chucking a cushion at him, which his skilfully dodged. Giving me a pretend evil look with narrowed eyes, Damon walked out of the house closing the door behind him. I grabbed the T.V remote with my feet and passed it to my hands, flicking the T.V on. I started to channel surf when suddenly my phone started to buzz again. It was Jeremy.
"Hello Jeremy." I said with a sarcastic twang to my voice.
"Can me and Ric come down now? We are starving!" Jeremy complained. I heard a muffled voice that belonged to Alaric saying something about Damon getting in his car.
"Hungry?! I just made you both like fifty pancakes!" I replied, raising my eyebrows.
"Aw I'm a growing boy! I need my protein!" He said, I could imagine the puppy eyes on him as he spoke.
"Seriously? Sure, come down." I sighed, flicking the T.V off and jumping up off the couch.
"Cool!" Jeremy sang and hung up. I laughed and slipped my phone back into my pocket. My brother wasn't normal. I heard a giant thump above me and then the loud pitter-patter of feet make their way down the stairs.
"How did it go?" Alaric asked, flipping over the back of the couch.
"Good... Great even. Everything's okay now. I think you really got through to him, Ric. Thank you." I smiled, Alaric smiled back.
"Hey, Elena? We need more bread!" Jeremy shouted from the kitchen, the bread storage wide open with his hand sternly on the handle. I rolled my eyes at Alaric.
"Okay... What else do you want? I'll go to the store now." I replied, sighing as I slipped my shoes on my feet.
"Cheese! Ummm... Crisps! I don't care what flavour. Eggs! Onions! Cereal! Get everything! Ahhh!" Jeremy shouted, he was too hyper.
"Okay... Not everything. I'll just get what I think you'll both like. And Damon might be back soon. Please be nice to him... Jeremy." I narrowed my eyes at my little brother.
"Hey! I'm nice to him!" Jeremy replied, he looked offended.
"Haha! Jeremy don't make me laugh!" Alaric cut in. I winked at him, he was one hundred percent right.
Camilla's P.O.V
"Drive faster." Lenny ordered from the passengers seat. "We'll lose him."
"Trust me. We won't. Now stop hassling me." I growled, my hands firm on the steering wheel.
"You believe him? That the doppelgänger is alive?" Lenny asked me, his voice more serious.
"Yes. The spell that witch used sounds familiar and by far doable. We don't even know if he's going to see this girl. He might just be taking that red head somewhere." I suggested, keeping my eyes locked on both the road ahead and Stefan's car.
"Why did he even save that girl? I thought his emotions were off." Lenny said, he had a point.
"I don't know. Maybe he wants his emotions back on. And he will do whatever to get them back on. My old friend Samia used to do that. Remember her?" I asked, Stefan was a very confusing guy. One minute he's bragging about how his emotions were firmly switched off, now he's driving a red head to safety and out of my grasp. Only I was following them.
"Yeah, she was useless at being a vampire. Good riddance, I'll say." Lenny chuckled, rubbing his blue eyes. "It's a shame Stefan took that girl, I liked him. Now he's just proven himself useless too."
"Agreed." I replied, suddenly I noticed a sign ahead. It read 'Welcome to Mystic Falls.' "Lenny, I think we're here." I smiled as we drove into the town.
Stefan's P.O.V
Just the sight of the welcoming sign made me feel sick. I wasn't ready to come back here, why was I? I didn't even know why I thought bringing Lacey here was safe for her. It was still in Virginia. I looked in the mirror and caught a glimpse of Sky in the back seat. She was rocking around on her car seat, gazing out the window at all of the tall buildings and big trees. The curiosity on her face was priceless.
"Nearly here." I announced as I turned down the road to the Salvatore Boarding House.
"Cool, are we going to your home?" Sky asked, leaning her head on Lacey's seat in front of her.
"Yeah." I replied simply.
"So just one week?" Lacey asked, looking at me with her big green eyes.
"At the most two weeks." I corrected, I saw her nod in the corner of my eye.
"Why? Remind me again, please."
"Because you know the secret. I've met a lot of vampires and if someone gets away knowing the secret they normally track them down and either turn them or kill them."
"Vampire?" Sky asked, tilting her head to the side. "What's that?"
"Oh nothing, don't worry Sky." Lacey told her, Sky nodded and went back to staring out of the window.
"Here we are." I pulled into the drive. "The Salvatore Boarding house. You new home for a week or more." I told them.
Elena's P.O.V
I was walking down a random aisle in the store, looking at food Jeremy would like. Which pretty much meant the whole store. My phone buzzed in my pocket for like the fourth time that day. I took it out and stared at the screen, 'Care' was bright and bold across it.
"Caroline, what's up?" I greeted her.
"O-M-G, Elena we forgot Bonnie's birthday!" She screeched, hurting my ear. I took the phone away from my ear for about five seconds and then placed it back where it was.
"What?"
"Think about it, the dance. We were going to surprise her. We never did because of Jack! She hasn't said a word! Our best friend turned eighteen and didn't remind anyone because we were so caught up with Klaus and Jack!"
"Oh my God... What should we do for her?" I asked, placing my phone between my ear and my shoulder as I grabbed a giant packet of crisps and flung them into the basket.
"Well, I'm at the pet store right now. The kitties here are adorable!"
"You're still buying her a cat?"
"Of course I am! We can all chip in for it. I think she would like a fluffy black one. They're like three hundred dollars. If we buy her a pedigree, that is."
"Um okay. How much do I need to give you?"
"I was thinking if you, me, Matt, Tyler, Jeremy and Ric each pitch in fifty dollars that should make up the three hundred we need. And 'cause Damon's loaded he could buy all the accessories and stuff like food and bowls and toys?"
"I'll ask him. I'm sure Ric and Jer will be fine giving fifty, same with me. I'll buy the food too."
"Alright, I'll call Tyler and Matt. You ask Damon, Alaric and Jeremy. Bye!"
Before I even got a word in, Caroline was gone. The phone line went dead. I flung it in my pocket and continued to shop.
So we were buying Bonnie and cat. Hm.
