~10 days later~The night before the wedding~
Elena's P.O.V
The night before, I had stayed over at Damon's house. Marking our last night, and last time together until the wedding. It was also from this moment when I truly started to feel excited, the butterflies were busy flapping around in my stomach when I stepped out of Damon's front door.
"I'll see you tomorrow, then." I grinned at Damon who was holding the front door open for me. He looked rough, his hair was in a casual messy state as he stood in front of me in only his boxers. Of course, he was grinning too.
"Yes, next time I see you you'll be Mrs Salvatore." His grin grew even wider. I rolled my eyes playfully at him.
"Don't remind me, I'm already excited enough as it is." I replied. He nodded and lent down to kiss me on the lips, the kiss felt more special. It was the most memorable kiss we'd ever shared, purely because it was our last kiss as just boyfriend and girlfriend... Or as two people engaged.
"Goodbye." He said simply, smiling as he closed the door.
I trotted down the steps and hopped into my car, getting one last look at the Salvatore house before I moved in with Damon and Stefan in a few days.

"Elena! Come on, we have a lot of planning for your wedding!" Caroline squealed as I stepped out of my car and onto my driveway. I gave her a confused look.
"We've already done the planning, Care." I told her, "everything is done. You said so." I walked up the porch steps towards her and Bonnie, who were both sat on the top step.
"Alaric wouldn't let us in until you came come." Bonnie rolled her eyes, "something about Caroline rearranging the living room without your rules." I laughed and unlocked the front door for them. We all walked inside. Caroline took the lead straight away and kicked of her shoes, walking straight up the stairs. With her she carried a box-like suitcase with lots of different compartments. Of course, it was pink all over with the initials 'C.F' and a heart next to it plastered on the front in glittery black stickers to match the buckles that sealed shut all the different compartments. Bonnie and I followed her warily, Caroline opened my bedroom door and strutted inside like she owned the place.
Bonnie and I looked at one another, what was Caroline up to? We both walked into my bedroom where Caroline was knelt down on the floor with her suitcase that lay on its side in front of her.
"Okay," Caroline started as she flicked one buckle up and opened the first compartment, revealing too many foundations to count. They were all different makes and shades. I raised as eyebrow at her. "You don't have that much makeup, so I found all of this in my closet at home. I don't know why I have so many different shades. I guess it's because of all my holidays and I expected to go really tanned or something. But either way, take a seat and we'll experiment on different shades of foundations, eye shadows, lipsticks and bronzers." I carefully sat down, a little worried that I'd turn out like an orange mess of some sort.
"You're quite tanned so I'll choose... This one," Caroline picked up an olivey colour and squirted it on the back of her hand before getting a brush from a different compartment and swiping it across my left cheek. It was cold and felt weird on my face, but by Caroline's hopeful smile I guess that she had chosen the right shade already. "Perfect!" She used the rest on my face and a bit on my neck.
"Okay, eye shadow, I think you would suit natural browny colours." Caroline opened up another compartment and revealed a big face palette that had the word 'CASHMERE' in big, bold writing right across the front of it. Caroline picked up another brush and experimented with many different shades before she finally chose one that suited me. It was a bronzey-brown shade that was slightly lighter than my eyelids. She also got another darker colour and carefully blended it into the other colour by the contour on my eye.
