I'll be here for you

Chapter 5

Ok so on Thursday we all got a History assignment and got to pick our pairs. Taylah said that Olivia 'asked' to go with her so that was her reason for ditching Danielle while Erin and I paired up. I asked her if she was ever friends with Olivia and Taylah said once, but she got caught into the wrong crowd. I dunno know, I really should stop looking into it but I can't help that I have a curious nature . . .

Saturday morning cam rolling through bringing in golden sun ray's leaking through my curtains. I looked at the time and noted that I had 4 and a half hours until I had to meet up with Erin for our assignment. I washed my face and decided to go for a quick surf.

When I got to a part of the beach that had great waves, I laid out my towel and finished drinking my strawberry up and go vive, I really couldn't be bothered to make anything fancy this morning.

Once I was done, I put my rubbish in the bin, grabbed my surfboard and went into the water. I love to surf at least once a week.

As I balanced on my board and surfed in the morning light it made me feel anything was possible.

After I stacked it I saw a figure near my towel. I was a bit tired and decided to take a break. As I got closer I found it was Cody standing there.

"Your a good surfer" he said with his blue eyes beaming with happiness. "Do you do comp?"

I laughed "Uh no"

"You should, its not really that competitive, really chilled and fun!"

"Your kidding me if its anything like Hawaii I'm stuffed"

"Nothing like that I promise" He chuckled.

I smiled as things started to get a little awkward as I didn't know what to say! . . .Think Kate think!

". . . ahh you have a cut on your knee"

"Hmm?" I said looking down at my knee, it was quiet nasty "Oh that, its just a scratch", I must have hit it on a rock or something when I fell of my board I thought to myself.

"Thats how they start off, next thing you know its all infected!" he stated dramatically.

"Nah its k the salt water was good for it" I protest.

"No its not, stop being so stubborn come on, my house is this way". Next thing I knew he picked up my surfboard and was walking off into the distance. I groaned playfully as I had no choice but to follow him if I ever wanted to see my surfboard again.

About 5 minutes later we stopped at this beautiful house, similar to mine except it had more glass windows on the front oh and a fountain. When we reached the gate a bubbly, white, fluffy dog greeting us at the gate. I followed Cody inside as I tried not to step on their dog, she was running all over the place.

"Don't mind Molly, she's always hypo around new people" Cody chuckled as he ruffled the fur on the top of her head.

"She's very cute" I replied.

When we reached the front door Cody leaned my board against the wall, he then pulled out keys from his pocket, opened the door and yelled out "I'm home" as he closed the door behind me.

His house was beautiful, just as I had imagined it. It had a theme of white which was similar to my house. We walked into the kitchen where he told me to sit down at the table. He opened a cupboard and pulled out a first aid kit, he then sat down on the floor and pulled out a cotton swab. He then poured some antiseptic on it and wiped it over my knee.

"Ouch" I said flinching away.

"Ooh sorry" Cody said bringing my knee closer blowing on it. As I looked up, I saw those big blue aqua eyes were staring back at me. I blacked out for a minute and jumped back up to see a girl, about one year younger than me standing in the doorway.

"So Cody . . . " She said casually. "Wanna introduce me to your girlfriend?" I looked the young blond girl up and down and tried my best to study her face, it looked so familiar, so pretty . . .

Cody laughed snapping me out of my faze. "Hello Alli, nice to see you too" She rolled her eyes. "Kate this is Alli, my younger sister who keeps on stealing my laptop!" Cody said and Alli's grin grew wider. So thats where she was from.

"So Cody's girlfriend -" Alli teased as she poured herself a glass of orange juice.

"Oh, I'm not his girlfriend" I replied shyly whilst Cody gave Alli a wink. She looked as if she wanted to go 'Ohhhhhhhhhhh' but she didn't.

"Nice to meet you . . . Ahh thats nasty" She said looking down at my knee as Cody bandaged it up.

"Meh, I've had worse" I said looking down on it as Cody finished bandaging it.

"Really?"

"Yeah when I was 9 I fell off my bike and it needed stitches"

"Ouch . . ."

"All done" Cody announced proudly.

"Thank you" I said with a smile. There was an awkward silence for a moment then Cody broke it saying "Do you want to stay for lunch? We're having Italian"

"Uh thanks for the offer but Erin and I really should start our History assignment" I declined the offer as best as I could.

"Thats fine, another time then?"

"Uh, sure" I smiled trying to suppress the blush.

"Thanks again, cya!" I said walking out the front door.

As I picked up my surfboard and towel I received a text saying:

Hey where are you? I am getting nervous call me when you get this. Love mum xx

I looked at my phone for the time at it read 12:45. Shoot. 4 missed calls and voicemails. I quickly called her back as I walked towards my house. When she answered she had a huge sigh of relief in her voice. Surprisingly, I was not in that much trouble, just that I should text her if I go to someone else's house and to get my butt home so I could start the assignment with Erin.
