I'll be here for you

Chapter 3

"In Pythagorus we want to find the missing side. Everyone get your theory book out so we can start to copy the notes down" A male voice sounded, from the door we were about to walk through.

Cody glanced at me quickly over his shoulder before knocking on the door. I nervously waited behind Cody, for the teacher to appear. We were late because Cody had to talk to his coach, I really hope that our teacher is nice.

"Siiiirrr" A frustrated voice groaned as I watched the door handle turn.

"Hold that thought Jake" The teacher said with his back to us and the door wide open. The teacher turned to look at us and smiled.

"Sorry we're late sir. I had to talk to coach, and this is Kate Brown the new girl" Cody gushed out in a huff.

The teacher nodded in acknowledgement. I took in his appearance, he didn't look very old. Maybe 23, 24? Oh and he was gorgeous, he had the whole surf look going for him. Messy chestnut brown hair, and light brown carmel eyes, 6 foot, and sun kissed skin.

You could just see his tan from his neck and a little bit of his chest was exposed as he didn't have his white collar shirt buttoned right up. He wore black suit pants as well, with black leather shoes.

I spaced out as I saw heaps of eyes looking at me as I was pondering what they thought of me as their first impression. I blinked and looked up at 'sir' with a innocent smile, as I felt my cheeks redden. I noticed most of the girls had a dreamy face on as well.

"As I was saying, I'm Mr Maklay" He said as he held his hand in front of me to shake.

"You want to tell us about yourself Kate?" He suggested. I nodded shyly, I noticed Cody had taken a seat towards the back of the room with a spare seat next to him, he grinned at me amused.

I ignored the audience I had and focused on Cody, I smiled at Mr Maklay sweetly before I turned my attention back to Cody.

"My name is Kate, I moved here from Hawaii because my dad has business here. I arrived 2 days ago and I love to surf and to play piano . . . I . . . Uh don't really know what else to say . . . " I shrugged towards Mr. Maklay as everyone nodded.

"Well, I hope you like it here Kate. Now that we are all here take a good look around, this will be your seating arrangement for at least 6 months until I get familiar with your names." He chuckled as he gestured his hand indicating for Cody and I to take a seat.

I turned as Mr Maklay smiled at me. I mouthed 'thank you' before taking my seat next to Cody.

"Now we are all settled, what was your question Mr Thrupp?" All the eyes of the classroom landed on a boy directly in front of us, he had bleach blonde hair like Cody and lightly tanned skin, from the back of him.

"I can't draw triangles" He sighed frustrated earning him many giggles from the classroom.

I watch Cody open his pencil case, pull the lid off one of his pens, then aim it at Jake's head. I tried to hold my giggle in as he turned to give Cody a glare.

When he gave Cody a glare I noticed he had deep blue eyes and plump red lips. He turned to me and smiled before turning back around as Mr Maklay, who was waiting patiently to help him draw a triangle. How hard can it seriously be its 3 straight angled lines! I giggled to myself.

"Just copy the notes off the board, then do the questions out of the textbook on page 268. Cody has a textbook on his Mac, and will send it to you once you receive yours. If you don't understand anything then don't hesitate to ask Kate" Mr Maklay instructed as he finished helping Jake.

I smiled and nodded. He was really nice, and hot . . . I mean what?!

I copied the notes down on the board and groaned, looking back on it trying to decipher what it all meant. Ugh! I. Hate. Math. Once we both finished I watched Cody reach into his bag and pulled out a white Apple Mac.

He opened the laptop once placed on the desk and the screen lit up. The background was a picture of a girl that looked like Cody, pouting. She had long blonde hair, red lips, slightly tanned skin, and big blue eyes. She was so pretty, it made you want to cry.

Cody groaned as he clicked a couple of applications and the wallpaper was of the beach I first met him at but it looked to be taken at dusk and it was beautiful to look at, I always loved beach photography in Hawaii.

"Alli . . ." Cody mumbled as he opened a folder, then next second a ebook textbook was up on the right page, covering the wallpaper and taking up the whole screen.

"Who's Alli?" I couldn't help but ask.

"My sister, the girl who was my wallpaper just before I changed it" He said irritated. I giggled, I must admit I've always wanted a sibling.

"She's really pretty" I complimented.

"Really? Haven't looked in the mirror lately" Cody smiled, raising an eyebrow at me. I smiled sheepishly.

Just as I was about to write down question 3 something popped up on Cody's screen. He looked up as it sounded and quickly muted the computer.

'daannnniielllle:

Pass your laptop to Kaattee. I wanna talk 2 her!!!!'

Cody moved the laptop so it was closer to me but he could still see the screen. He double clicked the message and a chat box appeared, I followed my instincts and typed in the message box.

'Hi, its Kate'

I pressed enter, a little bubble appeared under what I had just sent. Cody shook his head as he continued on with his maths.

'Let me guess, you were imagining your kids with Mr Maklay *COUGH* Mr Sexy'

I giggled at what Danielle had sent, Cody looked up from his maths book and chuckled. I blushed as I realised he had read it.

'He has a girlfriend. She's so hotttttt -Cody' Cody quickly typed.

'Go away Cody' Danielle typed.

'XD I can still use my imagination ;) -Kate' I typed back to Danielle

'Hahahaha;) I like you Kate' Danielle typed.

"Its like 1 minute to the bell goes" Cody pointed to the time in the top right hand corner of the laptop.

I nodded understandingly, and started to pack my things away. As on que the bell rang, I jumped out of my seat as an unexpected hug came to me.

"You like Mr Maklay?!" I grinned, and realised it was Erin who hugged me. She pulled away and laughed at me.

I ignored the comment and shook my head.

The next period went pretty quickly as it was science and science is one of my favourite subjects, I don't know why but it just is. Most people dread it but I love it.

I sat next to Erin and found out something very interesting; we both want to be a vet. I found that out as Erin randomly asked me while we were doing a worksheet what I wanted to do when we left school.

I am currently walking down the hall with Danielle as she is guiding us towards the canteen. She is ranting on to me how good the school garlic bread is as its recess. "Its so good! You are going to buy it, if you don't I'll force it in your pretty little mouth"

We were 2 spots away from being served when all of a sudden Cody and Jake came up to us with huge grins. "Ladies" They chorused.

I looked to my side as Danielle rolled her eyes at their greeting. I smiled at them, they then slid themselves behind us in the canteen line. "Go line up at the end" Danielle laughed as Jake rested his arm on her shoulder.

"We're good, besides you love us so it doesn't matter" Cody joked, making me laugh.

"So you want to sit with us?" Cody said, smiling at me with pleading eyes.

"S-" I was about to reply till Danielle butted in.

"Sorry she's sitting with us, bye boys" She teased as she dragged me off.
