When Sunday morning finally came I ran straight downstairs to find Dad cooking breakfast in bed for mum. He had been home quiet a lot for his work, I thought to myself. As I walked into the kitchen I saw the present was on the dinning room table, with the card lying open with a pen next to it.
"Good morning sweetie"
"Morning Dad" I replied giving him a kiss on the cheek. "You know you have have been off work for a while lately"
"Well it is the weekend" he replied with a smile.
"You know what I mean" I giggled and nudged him.
"Uh there has been some fill ins and I've had the week off . . . its also because your mother is sick . . . and- oh and before I forget could you quickly sign your mother's card and help me with her breakfast?"
"Sure" I replied happily.
I put the pancakes on a plate with maple syrup, fresh berries and yogurt, it was her favourite. While Dad put a flower on the tray, I made her a tea. Afterwards I ran over to the table to sign the card and stuck it onto the present. Dad walked upstairs and I followed behind him with the present. We popped our heads in the door to check if she was awake and found her watching T.V we then jumped onto the bed next to her and yelled,
"Happy birthday!!!"
She giggled and hugged us both.
"Aww thank you guys" she said. What was even better was she wasn't sick anymore so Dad could go to work without a worry and mum could enjoy her birthday sick-free.
"Open the present" I said curiously wondering what Dad had gotten her from the both of us.
She unwrapped the pink crepe paper and inside was a little box. There was a stunning silver chain, on it was a sliver heart pendent with 'Our Angel' carved onto it with three diamonds on a slanted underneath.
"Its beautiful" Mum said trying not to cry, even I was impressed.
"You like it?" Dad asked
"I love it" She replied giving us a kiss on the cheek.
After Mum had opened her present we all ate breakfast together and watched T.V in bed.
"Kate come help me with the dishes" Dad said.
"Ugh on the add break?" I asked, as I really couldn't be bothered to get up.
"Now" he said nudging his head towards the door.
I got the hint and left mum to watch T.V.
"Whats up?" I asked when we got to the kitchen.
"Ok so at 10:30 Sarah's mum is coming over to take your Mum to a gold class movie session, while their at the movies we are going to organise a surprise party"
