Chapter 18

School was now getting weird. I hadn't spoken to Cody for days nor had we met for tutoring like expected. I hated fights all together and couldn't stop thinking about him. I also felt like he was ignoring me but could you really blame him Kate?!

F*** it. I decided to go and talk to him. When I got to school I walked around until I found him standing outside room 17 talking to some of his mates.

"Hey Cody" I said pulling him aside.

"Hey Kate, just the girl I wanted to see" he said smiling.

"Really?" I asked with a smile. I thought he would still be upset about . . . well you know . . .

"Yeah, about the beach bonfire I just wanted to make sure you were cool about still coming"

"Uhh course, Same place?" I asked.

"Yeah, its my favourite beach" he replied.

"Alright what time?"

"Uh I'll pick you up from yours at 7 on Saturday?".

"Sure"

"Cool, so I'll see you later" he said walking off.

"Yea cya" I replied. After that talk I didn't know what was going through my head. I kinda felt really good and now I knew that he wasn't avoiding me but just busy organising the bonfire. Though I was really confused about 'us' lately.

On the way to period 6, which was science I met up with Erin and Danielle.

When we got to the science labs I took out my books and papers, then put my bag down and walked back to my friends. As I walked past Taylah I saw she talking to some other girls in our year. Then she did the unthinkable and stuck her foot out to trip me over for the 3rd time since I got here. Seriously is this all they could think of?! Tripping me over! Anyways it when a little something like this:

"Hey Kate" I turned to look at Oliva and then tripped over Taylah's foot landing face first onto the concrete. My papers and science books flew everywhere. I looked up to find Taylah and Olive laughing at me. Erin and Danielle stopped to help me with my stuff and then I heard a voice from behind me.

"You ok?" I turned around to find it was Cody who was offering me his hand.

"Yeah" I said gladly taking his hand and dusting myself off.

"What the hell's wrong with you?" he yelled to Taylah. He had obviously seen the whole thing.

"What?" Taylah said "She deserved it". I had heard enough. I looked down to see that my cut on my knee from surfing was re-opened and worse.

"Um I'm going to go to the nurses office" I said to Erin and Danielle

"I'll come" Danielle said.

"I'll stay here and wait for the others, I'll tell Sir where you have gone" Erin said.
