Thoughts consume you
When repeated for too long
Dwelling on what could've been
If only you had made a different choice
You can't go back in time
To fix your mistakes
Heart aching at the very thought
So long ago were these
Memories made
In places too far away
Though they still haunt you
After all these years
Alone and trapped
No light to guide you
No voice to follow
No way out of the darkness
It goes on forever
No escape from pity
Watching over you
Like a shadow
Following your every step
It will always find you
But there is one way
One way out of the dark
And that way is a sin
Though you are in so much agony
That you no longer care
You grab your rope
And tie it around your neck
Slipping down as your neck snaps
Warmth floods over your senses
No longer are you
Bound to the darkness
