Howls fill the night
Chill crawling up your spine
And carving itself within your soul
The only hope
Is the moonlight above
Not even a cricket making a noise
Quiet fills the air
Clutching your arms across your body
Trying to sustain warmth
Growling can be heard at a distance
Time is drawing thin
Taking a step twigs snap
Beneath your feet
And you jump at the sound
Turning every which way
Sighing in relief
You feel a twinge of safety
But at that moment
You know otherwise
Warm breath tickles the back of your neck
You turn around
And face a large beast
With fangs as long as your hand
A chilling sensation crawls up your spine
And your eyes go wide with fear
You let out an ear piercing spriek
And all of a sudden you cannot move
Heart hardly beating
The chill now etched into your soul
Twisting your reality
Your life flashes before your eyes
And the last thing you feel is everlasting fear
A feeling that will scar you
For eternity
