I longed for a reason
A reason to live
I wanted to be a hero
Stand for everything that is righteous
I fell in love with a girl
And I vowed to do anything for her
One day she was alone
And soon she was pounced upon
Men taking their gander at a taken woman
I refused to let her be their prey
I came to her in a matter of moments
And jumped in between
Her and her captors
I was asked to move
And I refused
I fought the three men off
When I turned to her
To see if she was unharmed
I clutched my abdomen
Pulling away my hand was blood
And a dagger peeking out
From my stomach
I raised my head to her
And clenched my blood stained teeth
I finally got to be a hero
I whispered to her
The blood kept flowing out between my fingers
I fell tony knees suddenly dizzy
And I coughed up blood
As I fell to my side
And the world went black
I managed to whisper out
I love you
Before I drowned in my own blood
