Deep within your soul
Is where a monster grows
Laying in wait, it grins
Grinning from where it hides deep inside
You plead that it can't bee you
It couldn't be you who was cruel
Couldn't be you who was heartless
Alas, it is all the same
You may think you feel but you don't
Cold and heartless is what lies behind those eyes
The inner monster is what is there
No changing it or telling it to go away
It's you and it won't ever leave
There it shall stay
You cry when you realize the truth
Desperately you call out that it couldn't be true
You've been living a lie
Everything you have ever known has been false
Yelling into your bedside pillow
You try to deal with being a monster
Hated by everyone around you
As you were thinking a brilliant idea hits you
You''ll do them a favor
Getting up from your bed
You walk to the window
Slowly you slide it open and place your legs on the outside
Looking down from your fourth floor apartment
You smile, the wind wiping you in the face
Closing your eyes you slide off
And for the first time you felt free
Free at last
