Let me glide away
Away to a place where there is peace
A place that is open minded and comforting
I will never amount to anything
Or so I've been told
The past is frightening
That is why people hide it
Under lock and key I suppose
No one needs me anyway
I'll just become a memory
A thing of the past
Forgotten, unwanted, hated
My own parents count down
Count down the days till I turn eighteen
So they can legally kick me out
I have no land of peace
Stuck in an everlasting hell
Just let me go
Let me glide far away
And soar to a place
A place where I can feel free
Free at long last
Somewhere the birds sing
And the tide recedes
A place where I can feel
Like I belong
