A gaping hole sits in my soul
Ripping at my seams
And bringing tears to my eyes
But then I saw a beautiful woman
Curves so refined
Eyes that sparkled
Brighter than the stars
Eyes that gazed at me lovingly
Unlike anyone had ever looked at me before
And all at once that hole was filled
Filled with love for another
I was completed
Until one day she was gone
Floated away with the wind
Leaving me alone
Crying after her pale face
Unflinching as I sobbed
My life becoming an abyss
A never ending forest of darkness
Crows circling my head
Taunting me with their cries
It felt like a dagger
A dagger that was thrusted into my heart
Shattering my soul
It was lonely and dark
A tree on a hill loomed over me
Rope swinging in the breeze
Something within me brought me closer
I reached out to the rope
And gently touched it
Slipping it over the headband around my neck
It felt like it belonged there
A faint whisper came across the wind as my neck snapped
Are you, are you coming to the tree?
