☙ Chapter 15 ❧

☙ U L F R I C ❧

The stench of male testosterone filled my nostrils as I inhaled the sweet scent of a brawl. It was times like this where you just wanted to grab a seat and relax but I wanted a piece of the action and a piece I would receive.

"Don't talk about my mate that way!" snarled the Alpha male before me.

I tilted my head and curled my lips into a cocky smirk as I stared him in the eyes head on, "Or else what? Are you going to rip me limb from limb? I don't think so pup."

He let out a battle cry and I prepared for his reckless charge. It was like fighting a spanish bull with a red flag in my hands, except a bull cannot truly see red, only movement. Like I had predicted, he took the head on approach and I side stepped, making him smash into the wall. The force of his charge creating a hole in the fragile wallpaper.

"Ah, ah, ah." I tsked, "You better watch that head of yours almighty Alpha, it might get you into some trouble if you don't watch where you aim."

The angered male snarled and tore himself from the wall's frail hold around his neck and came out looking quite like a ghost, covered in the drywall from inside. "I won't hesitate to rip your head off mutt. I don't care if this is a peaceful gathering!" he growled, slowly stepping towards me, as if he didn't want to startle his prey.

But he was oh so wrong, I was not the prey. No, I was the predator.

"Bring it" I smirked, waiting for his next steady advance.

One after another, he lead a new charge each time he caught hold of his breath. There were several head-sized holes in the wallpaper and he was panting like the dog he was, a crazy look in his eyes that I wanted to unleash.

"Oh little Alpha, you have forgotten I still have your mate under my control. She is under my rule after all." I chided, adding fuel to his fire.

I knew normally this male wouldn't be so reckless in a fight but he was desperate for the blood that I wouldn't shed. Hot fiery anger burned in the pits of his stomach and he eyed me carefully, clearly calculating his next attack. A different approach than before. No matter, I would be prepared and even if I wasn't I liked a challenge.

"My mate is not and won't ever be yours Ulfric." he snapped, extending his claws to an even longer length than before.

My eyes couldn't help but watch the slick movement as they unsheathed from beneath his skin. I always marveled at the way we werewolves changed ever so slightly when angered and this Alpha was displaying just that right in front of my eyes.

"Ulfric, back down." commanded a new voice that I immediately recognized.

I turned slightly so I could angle myself to hear him better but not too much so I could still see my opponent in front of me. Rule number one, never turn your back on the enemy.

"But Tyto my dear friend, I was just standing here. As you can see it was Alder who instigated this fight as he is covered the dust from the walls while I stand here without a scratch." I responded, the sickly sweet smile quickly returning to my face.

"We both know you're lying. I am no fool and the signs suggest that you have been badmouthing his mate have you not?" the Silver Blood Alpha growled.

Alder nodded and carefully maneuvered so he was standing shoulder to shoulder with Tyto, ready to take me on.

I rolled my eyes, "Do you not see the many holes in the walls? Those are from his rabid attacks against me."

Tyto scoffed at this and returned my eye roll, making a little spark of anger ignite inside me, "Yes, I see the holes, any wolf could, but those are not the real story. I don't play the part of the fool Ulfric, I know you use people's mates against them. My Beta is a perfect example of your scandalous actions against my pack and now you have used Alder's mate against him."

I felt my eyes turn black as coal at his accusations. Although they were true, I never really expected him to find out, let alone spare Orion's life.

I took my stance and silently mind linked my Beta to come aid my fight. Even if she was Alder's Luna, she was still under my command as Beta of Raven Shadow. It didn't take long for her to arrive and I saw the Nightfall Grimm Alpha's eyes darken in lust for a moment before returning to hardened rage at the fact I would still use his mate in battle, even against her own other half.

"Why are you here," Alder gritted out, trying to keep calm as he demanded answers from his mate.

She cowered away from his harsh voice and squeaked, "S-sorry Alder, I'm still in R-raven Shadow so I h-have to listen to Ulfric."

Alder let out another growl before lunging at me. I wasn't prepared and he shifted in mid air, crunching down hard onto my shoulder. I let out a grunt of pain and tried to shake him off of me but his fangs were rooted deeply in their place.

Tyto restrained Nexus so she couldn't help me anymore and it didn't look like she was trying to fight his hold. That traitor.

"Ulfric, give up before the council sees this mess," the Silver Blood Alpha demanded, growling slightly to show his dominance.

My wolf, however much I didn't like it, submitted to him and I instinctively revealed my neck in a sign of submission to him. Alder released and slowly retreated back to Tyto, licking the crimson droplets of blood from his teeth as he did. Nexus was soon in Alder's arms as he inhaled her scent and I finally noticed the presence of another wolf in the room. It seemed that she was standing there for quite a while, not daring to interfere and clearly enjoying the show.

"Why Calixa dear, nice to see you've arrived, just in time too. Be a good little Queen and calm your mate, he seems a bit displeased." I smirked as Tyto turned, taking in the beauty of his mate.

I hated to admit but I was envious that Tyto was soul bound to this she beast and my wolf agreed. I knew that this feeling would go away as soon as I met my true mate but in the meantime I would put my plan into action. Not only would I get the blood of the Queen but the whole package and no one would stand in my way.
