☾ Chapter 36 ☾

Once I saw my brother's caller ID flash on the screen of my phone, I went into panic. Somewhere deep inside, I knew that he must've discovered something about my past abuse. Maybe that I wasn't his sister? I didn't know, but one thing was for certain; Ryder told him. That made me angry but at least it gave me a chance to come clean about what has happened to me.

"Um..." I stuttered, "I was only trying to protect you Tyto, I promise. I didn't want you to know because Alistair is dead and there is nothing you could do to take revenge. Besides, Visenic is dead as well."

Tyto growled before answering, "Alistair isn't dead Yana. He kidnapped my mate and Warren was in on it. We have Warren in the dungeon and are going to hunt down Alistair. Calixa is back with us as well."

I gasped in shock and felt myself grow dizzy. Alistair is alive?! My heart skipped a beat and I grabbed the edge of the table to steady myself. All the things that have happened to me suddenly flashed before my eyes and I felt the need to pinch myself and wake up. Hoping it was only a dream.

"W-what!?" I exclaimed, my breathing becoming rapid, "Alistair is alive!?"

"Yes, but you don't have to worry about him," Tyto soothed, "He's residing by Wild Moon and the rogue wolves. We don't know what he's aiming to do but we suspect it has to do with the council."

I sighed, still not convinced, "Alright..."

"Now, tell me what you were going to before," Tyto prompted, sounding a bit impatient.

"Yeah, yeah." I replied, "I'll tell you but you might want to sit down or have Calixa calm you down a bit because you will get angry."

I heard Tyto sigh before some scuffling took place and he spoke again, "I'm in the same room with her so you can start telling me what happened."

"Okay..." I began, talking through how I wasn't really his sister and what Alistair put me through. It was the same story I told Calixa but it felt so different because I was telling it to the exact person I was trying to protect.

I heard a growl through the phone as I finished explaining and I frowned. I didn't know whether or not he was angry about what happened to me or that I wasn't his blood.

"Yana," I heard him whisper, anger clear in his voice although he was trying to hide it, "No matter what those two have done to you, you will always be my baby sister. I don't care if you aren't my blood. You were the best little sister I could have ever asked for and I wouldn't change it for the world. I love you Yana, no matter your blood. You are family and that's all that matters and I will kill Alistair. For both of us. Then we can finally be free."

After his expression of the the familial love he felt for me, I started to tear up and little hiccups and sobs escaped me.

"T-tyto!" I blubbered, "I l-love you so much! T-thank you for not ab-bandoning me after hearing my story."

"I would never. I love you Yana," He replied and there was a pause before he spoke again, "Uh, something came up Yana, I have to go deal with it. I'll call you later okay?"

I nodded, "Of course. Bye Tyto."

"Bye Yana."

Then the line went dead as I clicked the end call button. I sighed and wondered what could have come up that Tyto would have to handle. After all Wild Moon isn't his pack so Ryder should handle any problems. I shrugged and continued on my walk, unaware of the danger lurking ahead.

A/N: I hope you liked this chapter although it's short! I am almost done with finals and then I can write more. Today is my last day! *throws a party* Anywho, I just wanted to thank you all for the support and nice things you have said about my book! I honestly can't believe that anyone would read what I write so this is exciting to me. I might write a sequel to this book in the future but I also have several book ideas that I've been writing about in the drafts. If you guys would like to hear about them I can give a bit of info (To be honest I have like ten chapters written for one of my ideas already...)
