After I yelled at Calixa, I stormed off into my office and my wolf was snapping at me but also angry at her behavior. Guess wolves can be very bipolar when it comes to the things that they love.
"Stupid, stupid, stupid!" I growled, clutching my head in frustration, "I knew she wouldn't just leap into my arms but I at least thought she would thank me. Such a stubborn she wolf!"
"But that's how we like her," concluded Ignis.
I couldn't help but laugh at that but I still was fuming. I knew I had to calm down somehow so I began to trash the room and that only halved my anger.
The sound of the phone ringing interrupted my 'tantrum' and I grasped it roughly, bringing it to my ear.
"Hello, Alpha Aitan speaking." I answered, giving the normal Alpha's greeting.
"I'm happy you answered Alpha, this is Councilman Clwyde and I am calling you to inform you of some grave news. Now don't yell at me, I'm trying to warn you right now so just hear me out." he rushed out, I could tell he was nervous about whatever news he had to share.
"I'll try not to yell, no promises."
He chuckled, "I expected no less from you," then he turned serious, "Alpha Aitan, there's a war brewing and you're at the center. When you killed Ulfric, the news spread like wildfire and now packs are beginning to fear you and want to riot against you. The council isn't planning to do anything to stop it and I fear that Wild Moon may be your only ally due to your mate's connections there."
I growled, how dare those pesky Alpha's raise their claws at me. If they sound the war cry, then a war they will get. I will not back down even if it means dying for my pack.
"Well, I think your two packs should be enough if you have inside sources," Clwyde continued, "I think a game of wits is at hands and you are just the man to pull off a victory. Those other Alpha's are hard headed and even though you are as well, you also have a very cunning and experienced she-wolf at your side who has been through many a hardship in her lifetime. I suggest you talk with her and her brother to come up with some sort of plan."
"Agreed," I immediately replied, "Thank you for the warning Councilman Clwyde."
"It was a pleasure, I'll be seeing you."
We both hung up and I huffed angrily, tossing the phone onto the floor in a fit of rage. I knew killing Ulfric would have consequences but an all out war? These Alpha's are stupid to feel threatened because they should understand the consequences of taking someone else's mate. Ulfric had it coming to him.
I continued to thrash about my room, trashing the furniture but was interrupted yet again by a strong knock at the door.
"Tyto, I have something to discuss with you."
I immediately recognized the melodious voice as my mate's and opened the door for her. She looked me straight in the eyes and waltzed into my office.
"What is it, I'm a bit busy right now," I huffed, knowing I was being immature but not really caring since I wasn't in the mood to speak with her. She may be my mate but I was fed up with her antics.
She glared at me with her alluring eyes and replied, "You don't look busy, I wouldn't call throwing a tantrum a good use of your time. Now here me out or I'll just do what I want anyways. You're lucky I even bothered to come to you."
I sighed, knowing she was right and gestured for her to continue. She smiled knowingly and said, "I'm leaving for a bit to visit my brother. I'm bringing one of the Omegas with me and I can handle myself just fine so you don't need to worry."
My wolf grew angry that she wanted to leave us but I calmed him down by assuring him that we would probably accompany her given the news that Clwyde gave us over the phone.
"I'm coming with as well." I announced, not giving room for argument.
Calixa scowled at me and sighed, "Fine, but you better leave me and my brother alone after you finish whatever business you have with him."
"How did you know?"
"I'm not stupid," she deadpanned, "You know that I am very capable of handling my own and Ulfric is not a threat so there is no reason to come along other than business. Besides I know the tides of war when I see them and they are coming over the horizon. I'm guessing that Ryder is your only ally? All the other packs are too scared so they are coming after us with the council backing them?"
My jaw dropped in surprise, "Wow, I knew you were observant but not to this extent."
She scoffed, "I have more skills, you just only focus on trying to woo me rather than getting to know me. Anyways, do we have a deal? We both go but you leave after dealing with your business?"
I knew there was no fighting with her and I nodded, ignoring her comment about me wooing her, "Of course, you have my words Calixa."
"Great, we'll leave tomorrow so I suggest you get ready with your proposition because you aren't using me in your negotiation, although my brother will probably go easy on you since I am your mate." she smirked, "See you in the morning Alpha."
With that she left, leaving me to think about the past events. It seemed that time was moving so fast and I wished it would slow down and let me catch up.
