Once we returned to the Wild Moon pack house, we set up to have dinner. As I sat at the table, I stared longingly at the seat next to me that was reserved for Calixa. Ryder had assured me that she would come back later but Ignis was pacing back and forth in the back of my mind.
'I can't help it Tyto. Normally Teva and I can communicate but she cut her connection with me!' Ignis roared.
I sympathized with him and began to worry for our mate who was apparently 'blowing off some steam'. Maybe I should go after her... It certainly wouldn't hurt. Even if she is angry that I hunted her down, at least it would make sure that she is safe.
"Ryder," I spoke, "I'm going to look for Calixa. My wolf can't reach hers and we are worried because her wolf has never closed herself off from us."
Ryder stopped his eating and stared at me for a second before nodding, "Alright, but if she is in danger, you better not just rush in blindly Tyto."
I shrugged carelessly, "I know Ryder, I might be an Alpha but I don't let my emotions rule over me... at least most of the time."
He chuckled but quickly grew serious, motioning for me to leave. I gave him a curt nod and exited the pack house. As soon as the fresh air hit my skin, I shifted into my wolf and tore into the undergrowth.
The only thing on my mind was Calixa.
Is she okay?
Was I too pushy?
I huffed and shook away my doubts and worries, following her scent. The trail continued for a great distance until I smelt a familiar scent that I hadn't encountered in years. My father. I growled and saw red as his scent mingled with my mate's sweet one.
'That bloody mongrel touched our mate!' Ignis snarled, itching to take control.
I held him back for a moment and decided to let him come forth. He surged forward and quickly followed the trail and I silently watched. I was furious as well but at least with Ignis in control, we'd find Calixa much faster.
'Must find mate,' Ignis continuously chanted as we tore through the trees.
Soon we picked up a third scent and I almost did a double take as I recognized who it belonged to.
Warren!
'Our brother's scent is here!' I exclaimed, feeling confused. The last I checked, he had died when my family was with the rogues.
'Tyto, there is something not right about this. If Warren is here and so is Alistair, then does that mean our brother is in cahoots with our f-father?" Ignis questioned, choking out the last word in disbelief.
I growled and Ignis pushed on, increasing our speed as the scents grew even stronger. If our assumptions were true then Warren was going to be sent to his grave for good. No one messes with me and get's away with it, especially lowly dogs like them.
'The strange thing is I can't remember anything about our time with Warren... Don't you find that strange? Even more strange, whenever we think of him... it's like something is compelling us to be content and happy.' Ignis suddenly spoke, and I heard an edge in his tone.
'I agree, there is definitely something fishy going on...' I growled.
I was angry. I had just gotten my memories back but that just wasn't the tip of the iceberg; apparently there was even more I didn't know about. These secrets were really getting on my nerves. It seemed as though whenever I came closer to finding the truth I just took two steps back and got lost again.
Suddenly I smelt the sickening stench of male arousal and I saw red. If either one of them laid their filthy hands on my mate I would kill them. Torture their souls and their body until they are begging for death before I continue to torture them.
I burst into the clearing where I saw my mate chained to a tree that dripped silver sap, the chains burning her fair skin. I snarled menacingly once I saw who dared touch my mate.
Warren.
Without hesitation I ripped him from my mate and ripped into his skin, not giving him a chance to speak. No words were needed while I tore into his flesh. He screamed in agony but I didn't let up. I kept clawing and biting him before I pinned him to the ground with my teeth around his neck.
In the background I heard Calixa suddenly break out in sobs and I clenched my jaw tighter around Warren's neck.
"B-b-broth-ther," he croaked, trying to pry my teeth from his neck.
I growled, silencing him. I removed my jaw and replaced it with my paw, nails digging into him. Once I was sure he stopped struggling, I shifted back to my skin.
"Brother," my wolf and I spoke, "You have betrayed us. For that I will make sure your grave is permanent and your soul is tortured."
He whimpered and I grinned, "You have a right to be afraid. Once we return back to Wild Moon, I will be sure to torture you properly."
I stood up, bringing Warren with me as I gripped his throat. I turned to Calixa and saw tears streaming down her face. Her eyes were dark and I knew her wolf was in control. Calixa must've hid away at her wolf's demand. Calixa had already went through so much, I knew her wolf would do anything to protect her from anything, even if that meant shoving her to the back of her mind.
"Tyto," she cried, "I'm sorry."
I frowned and stepped forward, "You have nothing to be sorry for little mate. I'm sorry I didn't get here sooner. I failed you."
She sniffled, "No, I failed to protect the only thing I had to offer you."
"What do yo- Oh... No Teva that is not your fault." I replied, my voice growing softer at the sight of her tears.
I walked over to her and ripped the chains off with the hand that wasn't dragging Warren by his neck. She immediately fell forward and gripped onto my bare chest. I froze, not used to seeing this sensitive part of my mate. I hated how for her to show so much emotion, she had to be put through this trauma.
"Let's go home my sweet mate." I whispered, "We can get you cleaned up."
She wordlessly nodded and shifted effortlessly into her fur. I followed suit and gripped Warren between my teeth. I let Teva lead the way and soon we were back at Wild Moon.
Ryder was waiting on the porch with Urza in tow and when he saw us he immediately asked, "What the hell happened to you!?"
"It's a long story," I said as I shifted.

A/N: I wrote this during my English class... I really didn't want to write my essay so I didn't lie when I said I WAS writing just not what she wanted... Anywho, I hope you like this chapter! Do you guys think Calixa will let Teva stay in control for long? Also, do you think that Teva will get some alone time with Ignis since she is in control? Tell me what you think in the comments! I also would just like to thank you all for being so supportive as I'm writing, it means a lot to me. I've decided to dedicate the next few chapters to people who've been commenting and voting on my story quite a bit. Well, thanks again and have a wonderful day!
