C A L I X A

I walked past a few dusty shelves full of books that had obviously not been touched in years and coughed a little as I breathed in stray dust particles. It seemed that this section of the archive hadn't been touched in awhile but it wasn't the section I was looking for.

My steps echoed as I walked down the ever expanding library that continued through the magic casted by the witches. I have to admit, the witches were quite useful with their magic; when I become Alpha Queen, I will certainly have to make sure we maintain our alliance with them.

Hours passed by as I walked through the halls searching the archive for the right book. It seemed like I should just give up and turn back. Surely if I had spent this long looking to no avail then I wasn't going to find it today.

Then, just as I was about to turn back, I spotted the old spine of the book I was searching for. I rushed over to the shelf and grabbed the book, not hesitating to open it and page through it immediately. It didn't take long, thank the Moon Goddess, to find what I was looking for.

There, in the center of this book on lineage, was a page on werewolf-witch hybrids. I smiled triumphantly and decided to head back to Ryder with my findings. I just hoped that this book would give us the information that we needed to find the traitor among our kind.

As soon as I was back in Tyto's room I found Ryder waiting for me like I knew he would be. It was either because of his great intuition or the bond between us as alpha blooded siblings. I gave him a small smile and handed him the book, proud of my findings.

"I knew you would find it," he grinned, ruffling my hair as I glared at him for messing up the smooth brown locks.

We both flipped through the book and I saw the familiar werewolf-witch page open before us. After a few moment of glancing at the names, I gasped at a familiar one.

Aleana Carwyn.

"She's the witch!?" I exclaimed in shock, pointing at her name, "That mutt is the mate of Ulfric."

I growled in anger and felt the urge to hunt her down immediately. I knew our meeting in the forest wasn't an accident. In fact, I wouldn't have put it past that witch to get her own child to spy on me, feigning the innocence of a lost child.

Ryder put his hand on my shoulder to calm me, "Control yourself Calixa, we will catch her in good time. In the meantime, we must await your mate's awakening. After all, I would assume he would want to have a part in killing the witch who brought back his cursed father."

I let out a huff but knew he was correct. I couldn't take this from my mate; this was his battle to fight.

Teva suddenly made herself present in my head, "It seems his coma has softened your heart my dear Calixa. You regard him more warmly as your mate and are even going to let him kill the witch."

I rolled my eyes and didn't respond, simply looking my mate over as he lay in a blissful slumber on the bed. I approached his bedside and clutched his hand in mine. My eyes roamed his features, appreciating how handsome my destined was. I felt Teva stir even more within me as I thought of what would happen when he awoke.

There would definitely be some shared touches that were long overdue.

As I was lost in thought I didn't realize my brother left the room and I was now alone with my unconscious mate. I was grateful and found myself laying my head on Tyto's chest to listen to the soft thumping of his heart. As his heart produced a soothing rhythm I found myself growing tired and dosing off on my mates chest. Soon enough I let sleep take hold of me...
