 C A L I X A

Tyto left to go after his family after I asked him how he killed his father and I was a bit bothered that he wouldn't tell me how he did it as a young boy. After all, it was no small feat to take down a fully grown Alpha when you are just a child.

Once Tyto was out of my sight, I went back to the pack house and up to my room there. I normally didn't stay in there but seeing as it was my last night in Wild Moon, I suppose it would be nice to spend it with my pack members.

"Hi Alpha!" squeaked a female Omega as I walked through the door. I turned to look at her and tried to match her face to a name.

Soon enough I remembered it and replied, "Hello Amorette, nice to see you today."

She smiled as I said her name and I knew it made her feel special that I had remembered who she was. In all honesty I could never forget the names of my pack members, I would feel shameful if I happened to forget any of them. I even witnessed most births that happened since the females felt honored to have me witness them giving new life into the world.

"Will you be staying in the pack house tonight, Alpha?" she questioned, guiding me towards the stairs.

I gave her a small smiled and nodded my head, "Yes, is my room ready for me?"

"Of course Alpha," Amorette smiled, "Would you like me to help pack your things for tomorrow?"

"Yes that would be nice, thank you Amorette." I agreed, thanking her before I swiftly walked to my room.

The little Omega female didn't follow me and I concurred that she went to pack my things from my official home. As soon as I became Alpha, I was built a house but now I assume it will be given to Ryder since he is the new Alpha once I leave.

I made it to my room and decided to take a shower and scrub my skin after going on one of my runs. I hopped in the shower and hummed an old nursery rhyme as I scrubbed my skin until it turned red. Then I lathered my hair in shampoo and sung the song softly. It was my favorite tune from when my mother was alive and she always sang it to me as I fell asleep. Once she died, I always kept the song in my heart because I loved my mother dearly.

I finished my shower and stopped singing, wrapping myself tightly in a soft towel before exiting the bathroom. A small chill went down my spine and I growled, knowing it was the draft from an open window. I dropped my towel and threw on some clothes before approaching the source of the cool breeze. I knew I didn't leave my window open so I was in full defensive mode as I neared the glass pane of the window, I picked up the metallic scent of blood and let out a low growl.

Soon I spotted the cause of the smell sitting on the sill of the window. It was a small wooden box with a note attached to the top. Cautiously, I picked up the suspicious letter and examined it carefully before deciding it was safe to open.

"My Dear Calixa Dunamis,

It seems you'll be leaving your pack soon and I'd like to give you this parting gift and a chance to find me. If you know what your heart desires, the choice will be a simple one. You must remember me from your study but you never could catch my scent. I thought I would get away unnoticed but you are a very observant she wolf, I must give you credit for discovering my presence so easily. Too bad you just missed me this time, showering too long? That sweet little tune you sung was nice, I remember that one. Now, onto more pressing matters, finding me. If you wish to know my identity, just open the box and follow the scent like a good doggy. Blood is very easy to track but I made sure it was a very special someone's blood, you'll find out if you want to see me. The box has been masked so the identity of the blood bearer is unknown to you until you open it. The choice is yours my queen. Let whoever I have die and go to Silver Blood pack or save the damsel in distress and leave your precious Alpha behind. The choice is yours but the clock is ticking!
