After I drank the refreshment handed to me I couldn't remember anything. Everyone was a little hazy with their memory as well but we couldn't figure out why. I sniffed the air and noticed my mate, Ulfric, and the Nightfall Grimm Alpha were all missing. I raised an eyebrow and noticed that Ulfric's Beta, Nexus Quinn, was standing suspiciously in the corner, looking guilty as ever.

"Beta Nexus," I called, narrowing my eyes at her, "Come here for a moment."

She immediately complied, not being able to resist my power laced voice, "Y-yes Alpha Aitan?"

"I see you looking guilty over there so tell me why I have a blank in my memory?"

She visibly gulped and couldn't meet my gaze. Guilty.

"Uh... I-I'm sorry I don't know w-what you're talking about sir." she squeaked.

"Yes, yes you do. Now tell me."

She couldn't resist and released her guilt of what she had done. I growled when she told me about the paralysis and she quickly apologized, "I'm sorry Alpha Aitan! Alpha Volkov said I had to because he knows who my mate is even though I don't... If I didn't do it then my other half would die."

I understood her and gave a nod, "See now that wasn't too hard now was it?"

Nexus looked down and lightly shrugged her shoulders, "Please help my mate Alpha. I don't like working for Ulfric anymore, the only good thing he's done for me is gotten the pack doctors to dangerously fix my memory. I nearly died but he didn't care and I was in a coma for a few months."

"Don't worry Beta Nexus, as soon as I take care of Ulfric, you can go to your mate if you find him again." I quietly replied, watching her as her lips twitched up into a small smile.

I got up from my spot immediately and dismissed myself, following the faint scent trail of my mate. I must have been paralyzed for an hour at least because that was how old the scent appeared to be. My wolf was whimpering and pacing with worry, making me anxious to find Calixa. What had she gotten into while I was immobilized?

"Deal." I heard my mates voice as I neared the end of her scent trail.

I masked my scent and listened carefully to Calixa and whoever she was talking to.

"Good my Queen, let's hurry and get back to the meeting before anyone gets suspicious shall we?" the second voice suggested.

I immediately recognized the second voice as Ulfric's and almost growled but quickly realized they were approaching and made my escape. Luckily they didn't notice me, or if they did, no one spoke of it. I was sure I saw Calixa take a deep breath in and out but she didn't stiffen with realization. I silently knew that she sensed my presence, I am her mate after all.

I watched as she made her way back to the meeting room with Ulfric and I furrowed my eyebrows for a moment. Where was the Nightfall Grimm Alpha? I knew my nose didn't fail me when it came to picking up scent trail so he definitely left the meeting room but to where was the question.

A few minutes passed as I searched around before finding the distraught Alpha Skore trashing a corridor. The wallpaper was shredded and end tables with lamps were strewn about, a few lightbulbs shattered and glass all around.

"I'll kill him!" the enraged Alpha roared, flinging a table in one swift motion.

"Alpha Skore! Calm yourself immediately!" I ordered, using my Alpha command since it seemed he was too angry to listen to reasoning.

I didn't often go straight for the command but it seemed to work because he slowly stopped and slumped his shoulders forward in defeat, "Sorry Alpha Aitan. What is it you want from me? Come for your mate, because it that's the case, she already left to go elsewhere."
