Chapter 29

"I'm sorry, but you really need to answer your phone." Is the first thing Evan says to when I enter the apartment.

"Well hello to you to," I say as I put my keys on the counter and watch Liam run down the hall.

"He's been calling non-stop for five days now. He says it's very important that he talks to you himself and refuses to speak with me, so please just answer your phone so he'll stop calling," he begs as I sit down next to him on the couch.

"I really really don't want to. I've been having a half way decent week for once and I don't want him to ruin it."

The absolute last thing I want to do is talk to my father right now. This week has actually been pretty good. Nothing's happened between Mia and me since Monday, but she's definitely not ignoring me, she's doing the exact opposite actually.

She hasn't really talked to me besides a few hellos, but she can't really seem to keep her eyes off me. I now catch her staring at me almost as much as I stare at her, and when we make eye contact she doesn't immediately look away. As much as I would love to be with her again, I guess this is a close second. I honestly do hate when she ignores me.

"I know, you've been having a good week, but the more you ignore him the more pissed he gets. Just call him and see what he wants. If you just don't let him bait you into a fight and you should be okay," he says and I groan as I lean back into the couch.

"I'll think about it, but I make no promises."

"At least that's a start."

"Yeah whatever," I mumble. "What are you making me for dinner?"

"Since when is it my job to cook for you?" he asks with a laugh and I shrug my shoulders.

"I don't know! Since you're the better cook."

"Yeah well, I don't want to cook for you. So do you want to go out or get takeout?"

"Takeout sounds good to me. I don't really feel like going out," I say and he nods his head.

"Aright, is Chinese okay?" he asks while pulling out his cell phone.

"Sounds fine with me, but make the order for pick-up. It takes them to damn long to deliver it," I say and grab the TV remote from him when he gets up and goes to the other side of the room to order the food. I start flipping through the channels, but give up quickly. There's never anything on in the middle of the day.

"The food should be ready in forty minutes," he says when he sits back down a minute later. I just nod at him, my focus staying on the TV, watching some 'Law & Order' re-run.

"Has there been any progress between you and your sexy teacher?" he asks after a minute.

I turn and face him while shaking my head slightly. "Nope! She's not ignoring me, so I guess that's good, but nothing else. Which really fucking sucks because I swear whenever I see her I instantly get turned on."

"You're really really starting to like her aren't you?" he asks while looking at me accusingly making me groan.

"Seriously, please tell me what the hell keeps making you think that?"

"Well besides she's pretty much all you can talk about..." he starts to say, but I cut him off mid-sentence.

"Hey! You're the one that brought her up, not me!" I point out, but he just rolls his eyes before continuing.
