I woke up at about midnight, from a horrible nightmare once again. What was strange was that I always seemed to wake up from that same nightmare; I was with Garroth, but as soon as I looked away from his he disappeared, and the ground beneath me opened up and I fell into a void, helpless.

I shuffled around my bed, and reached my arm out from my duvet, a striking cold feeling hit me, and I quickly reached for my headband on the bedside table and retrieved my arm under my duvet. I slid the headband on my head, pushing back my messed up fringe.

Not realising that Laurence was in fact awake and watching me, I tip-toed quietly to the ladder, but just before I could go down the ladder Laurence's hoarse voice intruded the quietness in the room.

"A-Aphmau, why are you awake, again? You've been like this for the past couple of days. . ."
I ignored his words, and proceeded to walk towards the ladder.

Aphmau went down the ladder, and, Laurence being so protective over Aphmau, of course he got out his bed and followed her.

Aphmau had gone outside the newly built gates and saw a figure, being so foolish she had thought it was the one man she had seen in her 'dreams' that were more of a nightmare to her now - Garroth.

In reality it was a Shadow Soul, but no one had known that they now could shape-transform into a person or animal to lure in their victims.

"G-Garroth. . .? Is-is that y-you over the-there. . .?" stuttered Aphmau, approaching the Shadow Soul that had shaped into Garroth.
A gentle breeze swept the leafs that were on the path, and Aphmau's lace nightgown swayed in sync with those leafs. She was now only a feet away from 'Garroth', and as she took one last step towards him, she reached her hand out to touch his face.

Thank Irene Laurence was there, for just as Aphmau had set her fingers on the shadow knight's face, she got a sudden wound in her stomach from the Shadow Soul's attack; to which it had disappeared straight after. Aphmau's blood stained the freshly cut grass as she fell down on it, speechless and in agonising pain. She only realised now that the Garroth she saw was in fact a Shadow Soul, and they knew that she wanted to see Garroth, and therefore they could lure her towards them using their shape-transformation.

She reached her right arm up at the navy sky, and widened her grip as if she was gripping the silver moon, which was the only light source in this dark village. She coughed up blood, and a sharp ache stabbed at her heart.
". . . I. . . G-Garrot-th. . ." she mumbled, and clenched her fist that was reaching up at the moon.

"APHMAU!" screamed Laurence, sprinting towards the blood covered girl, who didn't even shed a tear. However, Laurence had already shed many tears, and he could barely believe what was happening.
He sank his knees on the graveled path right beside Aphmau, and attempted to lift her up, which only caused her to cough up more blood.
"E-Everything's going to be alright, Aph. . . I'll bring you over to Zoey's, and you'll be okay. D-don't worry," he spoke those words of reassurance, which were no use to Aphmau as she was the one that was calm here; and Laurence was in fact the one that was worrying.

Laurence lifted Aphmau up once again, and luckily this time she didn't cough up any blood, she just jerked about a little. He thought that Zoey would be able to help Aphmau, and therefore he ran towards her house, careful not to hurt Aphmau.

"ZOEY! WHERE ARE YOU?! HELP!" yelled Laurence as soon as he had set foot on Zoey's porch steps.

"What could you possibly need help with, Laurence?! It's literally midnight, and you're doing this? You're pranking me, aren't you?" spoke Zoey's slightly annoyed tone of voice as she opened the door, yawning and not able to see the blood-covered body that was Aphmau.

Laurence stormed inside the cottage, knocking Zoey to the side and placed Aphmau on the beige sofa, staining it with Aphmau's rich-red blood.

Zoey stood by the door, wide-eyed, unable to comprehend what was happening.
"L-Laurence. . . Please explain. . ." she mumbled, approaching the raven-haired girl slowly, and kneeling down beside her just like Laurence had.
Laurence's tears sunk down to the floor, and he struggled to open his mouth to tell Zoey what had happened.

Zoey didn't emit a sound while Laurence was explaining and when the crying man had finished explaining, she was utterly and completely speechless.
Laurence looked at Zoey in the eye.

"Please, Zoey, please help her. . ."
