It was a blistering evening, the moonlight striking the bluenette's hair. Her armor was pristine, and her iron claws glimmered in the dim light.

Her eyes wandered on the ocean's horizon, a faint peninsula poking out from the fog known as Brightport. Somewhere, somehow, she saw it as a home.

While she loved Phoenix Drop to death, she always felt the area was too small for her liking. Not enough people to help around. She didn't feel this when passing through Brightport, however, but she never even gave a hint of this to anyone.

"Kate," the soothing lips of her lovers came to view, creating a smile.

"Travis," she smiled, her head leaning against his chest.

Travis didn't expect Katelyn to be here, but he came to think things over, and find a way to tell her. This was his chance, and he took it gratefully.

"We need to talk," he breathed, effortlessly.

"About...?"

Travis prepared him self to share the news, "Kate, I'm sorry. But, I've decided to end our relationship." This news received a gasp from Katelyn, as Travis continued, "I want to live in the Capital."

"B-But," Katelyn's voice was shaky, "we agreed months ago to stay here and help Aphmau with her pregnancy, then decide from there. H-how-"

Travis interrupted, "I know. But, I don't feel at place here. I'm not a guard, I'm just... Here. I want to help people, travel... Not stay in one place doing nothing productive. I want to help build the Capital, create a masterpiece that will live on for years to come..."

"B-But I don't want us to end. Can't you just wait one-"

"No." Travis said coldly, "I can't keep waiting. I need to begin going places."

"Well," Katelyn wiped the tears, "At least I can thinks about that guard academy I was thinking of..."

"See? This is what I mean! We have different dreams, and we both need to pursue those, together or apart."

"...Fine." Katelyn obliged, "if this is what you want. I will stay here until two months after Aphmau's child is born. Then I will depart and begin my mission. You can do what you want on one condition."

"And what is that, my darling?" Travis said, wiping more of Katelyn's never ending tears away.

"I want you to leave my life. Never talk to me, and never try to get close to me again. Leave me in peace to cry my sorrows and think. I want you gone tonight or I will personally seek you out. Deal?" Katelyn cried, stepping away from the ocean, her back to Travis.

"Deal, but I want you to abide to a deal of my own," Travis began.

"And what is that?" Katelyn started, waiting for a response.

"I don't want you to cry over me, save the tears for a real disaster. I'm always here and even if you don't want me in your life, so be it."

With that Travis passed Katelyn and dived through the portal that night. The next day is when Katelyn broke her deal, the city filled with her screaming cries and sorrow. She never got over him, and though she broke her promise, he never broke hers.
