Everything flashed before my eyes. . . The thought of Aphmau dying is something I cannot think about.

I had loved her with all of my heart, even though I am a knight of shadows. I still had a heart, she was my light in my darkness.

I had been told by Zoey to go upstairs while she tried to figure out what to do. Levin and Malachi were sitting on their beds, hands on their knees. They were fully awake and had worried expressions on their faces I had told them what had happened.
No one spoke a word, no one moved a muscle. I sat down on the chair by the wall and waited for Zoey's call for me to go back downstairs.

Thoughts flooded my head; and they weren't necessarily 'happy' thoughts, so I quickly brushed them out of my mind.

Thud.

. . .
A tear dropped to the wooden floor, causing a slight splat sound. My eyes started to well up, but I quickly wiped my sleeve over them, removing the excess water.
Another while of waiting in silence, Dante soon came into the room, and I knew he felt something bad in the air.
"Hey, Laurence," he spoke, his voice soft. He turned his gaze from me to Malachi and Levin. "Hey Levin, Malachi."
"Hey," the two brothers said in sync.
Dante stood with his back leaning against the wall, and he didn't ask any more questions.

A couple of minutes of waiting in silence, Zoey finally called me, Levin, Malachi and Dante downstairs.

But what I saw was more than enough to shock me.

Aphmau's stomach had started to glow brightly and everyone knew what had caused this; her powers, or, more specific, Irene's Relic.

The problem was no-one knew why. A ghostly figure had blossomed out of Aphmau's lifeless body, and everyone in the room at that time widened their eyes in complete shock. They bowed down their heads at the ghostly figure for it was her, Lady Irene.
She had raven black hair, wore a long white gown with lavender accents, and a long dark blue cloak.

The goddess spoke, "Sadly your friend has passed." Laurence immediately flinched. "Although there is a way to bring her back. . ."
Laurence was crying and the goddess looked at him. "You," she spoke, pointing at him. "Come here, child."
Laurence paced over to Lady Irene, his head looking down at the tear filled floor.
"Mr Zvahl. . . Aphmau had very strong feelings for you and. . . Garroth."
Laurence, clearly confused had said nothing, and wished the goddess would go on about what she was going to say.

"And so, only true love can bring this wonderful lady back to life - You must choose her fate, Zvahl." Everyone's eyes widened enormously.
The brown haired boy peeked up from the floor.
"W-what do you me-mean. . . have to choose h-her fate?" he inquired, his lips quivering.
"Yes Zvahl, but not her life fate, her love  fate. She will remember Garroth, of course but will have no feelings for him. It was those feelings that made her to fall for tricks so easily. Your choise, Zvahl."

Two pictures were projected from the light of the relic, one of him and Aphmau, and one of Aphmau and Garroth.
Laurence looked at those two projections, and his mind was mixed with complicated emotions.
I need to think, what if Garroth never comes back. . . This is so hard, but then again, Garroth himself had told Aphmau that she should move on. . .

He had finally chosen and explained his answer to Lady Irene, who immediately started to heal the dead girl.
A giant light busted from Lady Irene's hands and as the light dimmed down, it came falling softly down onto Aphmau's injured body.
As soon as the light had vanished, Aphmau had no more scars, bruises or even blood on her body. Nothing.
It was as if Lady Irene had done the same thing Aphmau had done to Dante two months ago.

"She should be fine now. . . I'll get going," the goddess said. Zoey quickly jumped up from her knees.
"Wait! Lady Irene! I have so much questions for you, could you please answer them?!! Please wait!"
However, Lady Irene did not respond to Zoey's request. All she had done was smile down at all the people in the room, and she evaporated into thin air.

Moments later, Aphmau shook awake. She woke up so blind as to what had happened to her, and thought that she had just drifted off to sleep. She pulled her upper body up and positioned herself in a more comfy position on Zoey's sofa. She had no idea why everyone was surrounding her with tears falling from their faces.

"APHMAU YOUR OKAY!" Laurence had screamed, he soon after saying that started to sob hysterically, making Aphmau start to wonder a lot of things. But she soon dropped her questions and hugged Laurence back. She asked him what had happened, and after he explained to her everything, she was confused and was scared to go out alone.

"Th-Thank you Laurence. So much," soothed Aphmau, and leaned in towards Laurence's face and their lips connected. They shared a passionate kiss, and when Aphmau pulled away she saw Laurence blush tremendously. There were still tears around his eyes, and she wiped them off.

"I love you."
