Zane = Voldemort

§Katelyn§

"Crucio!" I yelled, aiming the curse at the writhing body of Kawaii~Chan on the ground, "You used to call me your friend, but now look at us, sending Unforgivable Curses to each other. What a pity that now your death comes! Sectumsemp—"

I was cut short by a spell sending me flying backwards into the brick wall. My skull pounded, stars blinding my vision as a certain white-haired male walked up to me, shame and disappointment plastered in his face.

I lunged forward and wrapped my hands around his neck in a choke-hold, but felt another pair of strong hands push me off, now forcing me against the wall. I snarled at the pair, Travis Valkrum and Aphmau Phoenix, both supporters of the opposing side.

I bared my teeth in a snarl, cackling devilishly, "So you've finally come to kill me? Go on, Valkrum. After all, you swore to me the day we broke up you would find me and kill me along with the Dark Lord."

My hand tightened around my wand, and I used the best of my ability to point it at Aphmau, then yelling, "Sectumsempra!" I watched as Aphmau fell back, blood staining her dark robes.

"NO!" A voice shouted from along the corridor, and my eyes were trained on the blonde male with blue eyes; Garroth Ro'Meave. I aimed my wand at him and shot the Cruciatis curse towards him, watching as he screamed in pain.

As I left Aphmau bleeding and Garroth twitching, I turned back towards Travis, who was watching me with disbelief, then fury.

"So the Death Eater is too afraid to use the Killing Curse, now is she," Travis hissed, his wand aimed squarely at my chest.

"I follow the Dark Lord's orders; he is my master. If he forbids me from using the Killing Curse, I shall not."

"Loyal to him, eh? The complete opposite of what you were to Hogwarts?"

Anger overcame my emotions and I shot the Sectumsempra spell at him, but missed by an inch. He continued to toy with me, his wand still aimed at me.

"What made you follow Voldemort? What made you become a traitor to those who befriended you, to those who loved you?"

"Silence!" I screamed, aiming yet another spell at him, "Petrificus Totalus!" But again, I had missed him.

"Don't you understand, Kate, that you left those who had seen you for what you really are under that murderous, treacherous Death Eater you never were!"

And out of pure fear, anger, displeasure, I shot a spell that, this time, had not missed him, "Avada Kedavra!"

Travis's body crumpled to the ground, a limp mass of an empty shell, once occupied by a soul. I looked down at the wand in my hand, dumbfounded at what I had done. I dropped to my knees and crawled over to where Aphmau was, muttering the counter-curse and watching as her wounds began to heal. I gave her my wand.

Then I slowly moved up to Travis's body, snaking my hand up to his cheek and pressing my warm lips to his own cold ones. I pulled away and looked at Aphmau, "Kill me."

"W-what?" Aphmau was stricken of why I would make such a request, but I gave her a pleading look to show I wanted this.

"I was a fool. I should never have followed into Zane's footsteps; I should never have let him get into my brain. Aphmau, kill me. Let me be with him."

She raised a shaking hand and whispered in a trembling voice, "You love him."

"I do. Again, I was a fool to think I didn't."

"Katelyn..."

"Aphmau. Kill me."

The next few moments went on in a haze. Green light fused with my eyes and I felt all life source drain from me. And the next moment, I was in a misty white room beside Travis, who appeared to be smiling.

I smiled as well, grabbing his face and kissing him with all love I possessed before both of us moved on as ghosts of Hogwarts.

This is the first one-shot I've ever written, and I must say I'm quite proud. I feel, however, that I left some details out, but oh well.

Thanks so much, everyone, for reading and (hopefully *wink*) following.

Mwah!
