Ivy's blade twirled around the ice, shaving an intricate design into the frozen lake. Other children scramble around and find balance, but everyone knows Ivy is known for her amazing spins and sharp turns.

Laurance and his buddies, Garroth and Travis, heard about the local rink a couple days prior. They all decided to check it out as it was very chilly and snow was scattered across the country, the perfect weather for skating.

The men were tying up their skates when Garroth pointed out the pinkhead, "Wow, she's really good..."

"Yeah, she sure is. Though, I bet I could beat her at a contest." Laurance retorted, adjusting his gloves.

"Laur, you haven't skated competitively in ten years, let alone skate in between." Travis added, Garroth agreeing and nodding his head.

"I'll show you guys," Laurance stood up, "Watch and learn."

Laurance walked swiftly toward the icy wonderland, stepping onto the flat surface. He stumbled at first but ended up whirling around the whole lake in just a couple of minutes.

Travis and Garroth on the other hand were holding onto each other for dear life, falling every few minutes. They soon joined up with two struggling girls as they conquered the ice together, the four of them skating around.

Laurance tested his old spins and twists, remembering them and pulling them off nicely. Ivy noticed him out of the corner of her eye and soon became jealous as everyone was averting their eyes to him. She started with a simple toe loop, adding a double Lutz jump to finish it off. Everyone's eyes landed on the women as she smirked towards Laurance, who just scoffed at her.

As the families admired Ivy again, Laurance spun circles, finding the middle point. The man casually preformed a double axel jump, changing quickly into a half-Biellmann while sliding. The groups couldn't get enough of either of them, but both were envious of the other. They competed back and fourth, throwing out camel spins, sit spins, and fan spirals left and right.

Eventually the crowds subdued and skated on their owns, making the two crave more attention.

Once the last person looked away the two collided in the middle of the lake. "Look what you did," Ivy spit, "You drew the people away from me."

Laurance laugh maniacally, "I drew them away... Yeah right. You kept trying to one up me and it didn't work missy. They left because you were repeating your moves. Typical noobie."

"I'm not a noobie by ANY means," she crosses her arms, "I've been training and competing since first grade. I don't see you practicing here everyday, either."

"I was in competition for ten years, until my incident in college. I attempted a death drop into a triple Lutz and was hospitalized." He replied bluntly.

"Sorry but I stand by my word." She retorted, receiving an eye roll.

"Fine. Sorry then." He smiled, "If you MUST know, I was doing a duo with my assigned partner, Nicole Von Rossenburg, and..."

"Wait... The Nicole Nightstar?!" Ivy gasped in disbelief, receiving a nod from Laurance.

"Yeah, but we were skating buds before her Olympic debut. Anywho," Laurance continued, "I was known at the time by my alias Zvahl the Zipper. I wooed all the women with my dashing lifts and spins, until that one duet..."

Laurance thought back and remembered it like yesterday. He was learning the choreography with Nicole, just a day before their competition. Just as he was holding her in the air for their Ina Bauer and Handstand combo, Laurance's legs shook as he dropped Nicole, the blades coming in tact with his skin. It ended with him breaking his back and a few ribs, and a large scar across his arm from the incident.

"Thats too bad..." Ivy muttered, fiddling with her gloves, "I-If you want I could teach you how to do it properly... I've done it in competitions before and know that wobbly feeling. You must've kept your back leg pointed instead of to the side..."

"I don't want to hurt myself or you, but if you know what you're doing..."

Ivy flipped her hair, "Which I do of course..."

"Why not."

The duo raced into it, Laurance lifting the girl into the air upside down. She placed her arms on his knees as he skated around sideways, the rush going to his head, "I-I'M DOING IT!!!" He placed Ivy down carefully, the couple laughing and high fiving.

"That. Was. AWESOME!" Laurance exclaimed, doing a small upright spin. Ivy smiled.

"Well, you wanna try it again?"

The duo smiled at each other and attempted it over and over again flawlessly. They grew a crowd once again and created small techniques to work on as a duet, receiving cheers and claps in return. The practiced the rest of the day together, pulling off amazing moves that couldn't even move the crowd off of them. People from all around gathered during the next month for their tricks and spins, people throwing gifts and flowers everyday. Who knew the perfect duo was created from a little disput?
