12 stops.

That's when she got off.

Her name was Lucinda, a Senior who rode the bus every day after school to her house. Me? Another Senior who she rarely ever heard from after the incident of our sophomore year.

Travis, my name is. I was the third stop after her, making me the street behind her house.

But back to the main topic: 10th Grade. Shall we travel back in time and take a look at the flashback? I suppose we shall.

4th Period: Lunch. Everyone's favorite subject unless you're Emmalyn or Kenmur. Dante's challenge rang through my mind. I had to ask out my crush, and then Dante would stop bugging me about it. "Unless she totally denies you, then I'll make fun of you for it."

I took a deep breath and walked towards the table where she sat with her friends, a variety of girls from the same grade. Most of them I didn't know the names of, but a couple I knew.

"Hey—uh—Lucinda... C-Can I ask you something?" I stuttered, wringing my hands behind my back. She looked up, her fiery ginger hair swinging behind her shoulders, with her red eyes gazing tenderly upon my own green ones.

"Oh! Hey, Travis! What did you want to ask?" She smiled softly, setting her chin atop the palm of her hand.

"W-Well—er—I was j-just wondering if you—uh—wanted to, maybe, g-go on a date with me s-sometime."

She smirked, straightened her back, and lifted her chin broadly, "Oh, Travis, absolutely! I want you to paint me like one of your French girls!"

Okay, so maybe that was a bit of an exaggeration. But hey, a guy can dream, can't he? No? Fine. The event went more like this:

"Travis... well, you're sweet and all, however, I'm not really that interested... Thank you for asking, though. I'm truly flattered."

I slumped my shoulders sadly, but tried to hide my expression and averted my gaze from the amused eyes of her friends, "W-Well—I'll just be g-going now, then..." I took a step, running straight into Katelyn Fyre, a teenager who seriously needed anger management.

"Watch it, you dingus! Irene, someone needs to put a backup camera on you like they do on those new futuristic cars. You sure need one," she strutted off, carrying her tray in front of her.

"S-Sorry, Katelyn!" I called after her, then proceeding to walk out of the cafeteria and to the hallway. I could feel the eyes of people burning into my back, but didn't look behind me. I wanted to avoid even more embarrassment.

I had rarely ever spoken to her since. Every day since then, however, it seemed as if when she chose her seat, she gradually chose one closer and closer to me.

Today, however, was the day she sat directly in front of me. She put her earbuds in to avoid the sounds of screaming children.

About four stops in, she turned around with widened eyes, as if she had suddenly realized something she had forgotten. "Travis, do you know what the homework was that Mr. Tony assigned to us?!"

"Uh... I'm pretty sure it was to read Chapter 28 in the textbook for the quiz tomorrow..."

"Oh my Irene!" She groaned in frustration, "I left my textbook in my locker!"

"I-I can text you pictures of the pages!" I said quickly, bringing my phone up in her direct viewpoint.

"You. Are. A. Lifesaver!" She exclaimed.

I shrugged and casually said, "I know I am."

She giggled, handing me her phone, and I gave her my own so we could exchange digits. Score, Travis! You finally got a lady's number—not including Aphmau's."

"Why don't you come sit beside me?" I offered, causing her to smile. As soon as she stood up and grabbed her school bag, a cluster of kids tackled one another into the seat. Lucinda squealed and plopped down beside me, laughing softly.

"You know, I haven't heard much from you lately. Let's talk." She rolled up her earbuds, and I nodded as answer.

And it went on like that until Stop #12 approached, and she left the bus, leaving me with a handful of other adolescents.

First of all, can I just address the fact that Lucinda now seems super seductive in MS?

I mean I love Lucinds, but whyyyyy?

Mwah!
