Chapter 02

He was smiling at me.

I was thinking he's 5'11". He was way taller than me. Kung hindi siguro ako nakaheels nun, baka dwarf akong tignan. He stood beside me.

I didn't say a word. Kasi nakakahiya pa. Baka sabihin niya feeling close ako sakanya. Pero, I have to thank him kasi kung wala siya, eh solo flight talaga ako nun.

"Hi." He said. Lumingon siya sa akin.

Nabigla ako. I didn't expect siya yung unang magsasalita.

"Uh hi!" I returned his smile.

Ang gwapo niya, actually. He looked so fresh. He smelled so fresh. Clean cut. He was wearing tux. Buti nalang nakaganun din siya kasi nakaganun din naman ang mga groom's men.

"Buti nalang nakaabot pa ako." He said. Smiling.

Ang gwapo nga niya.

"Hehe oo nga eh. Hmm thank you ha?" Sabi ko. Nahihiya pa ako.

"Hmm.. not a problem. I am also doing this for my bro naman eh."

"Ahh. That's so nice of you." Sabi ko. Nakasmile lang siya.

Biglang naging awkward. Ay.

"Uhmm.. Are you friends with the bride?"

"Yes. We've been friends for almost 6 years already." Sagot ko.

"Ah. I see." Tumango siya.

Ang gwapo niya talaga. Kahit nakatigilid.

"Okay, okay, guys. We're going to start in 10 seconds." Sigaw ng coordinator. Sabay kami lahat nagayos, preparing ourselves.

Then, all of a sudden, the music started.....................

We walked side by side. My hands were sweating. Lahat ng guests nakatitig sa amin. I don't know why I felt like that. It wasn't my first time to walk down the aisle as a bride's maid. But it felt different. Baka dahil sa partner ko.

Feeling ko nagslow motion ang mundo. Parang ang tagal naming naglakad. Ang lamig pa ng hangin. I kept on telling myself na relax lang. After this, tapos na to. Dahan-dahan kaming naglakad ng partner ko. And I noticed sinasabayan niya steps ko.

Then, I realized we're almost at the end. Nawala bigla yung smile ko nung nakita ko na ang end ng carpet.

When we reached the end, he smiled at me. And agad akong bumitaw sa kanya. And that was it. We parted ways. He was going on the right side, while I was on the other side.
