I suddenly missed Rhiannon and Ace. So here it goes! 🤗
Special Chapter 1
"Is that all your clothes?"
I looked at the five big suitcases placed on my bed and nod.
"Mom said I could visit here for a week if I want and I could use the remaining clothes when that time comes."
"Tss," Ace placed a soft kiss on my forehead and hug me. "Mommy mo talaga. As if I'd allow you to visit here alone," he murmured.
I laughed. She even gave me an advice about getting an annulment.
It still felt surreal. Like it only happened at my dream. Parang hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala. It's too good to be true.
Ace helped our maids to take down my things. Mommy followed me here and gave me a tight embrace.
"Be happy, Rhiannon Gayle," she wept. "Even if Ace wasn't my ideal man for you, I still want him to end up with you for making you smile like this. You look happy."
I hugged her back. "I am very happy, 'my. It's like a dream come true for me."
"I'm happy that you do." She sat down at one of our benches so I sat beside her too. "Marriage is not only all about love, anak. It will also teach you how to be matured more than how matured you are now. Pag may problema kayo, don't run from it. Think of all sides and learn to understand how things came differently. You have to be wise of your decisions. Marriage is a lifetime partnership, anak. Problems in marriage are intended to stabilize your relationship and not to ruin it. You understand?"
I nod and she gently stroke my hair. Naiiyak akong tumingin sa kanya. I can't believe that I'm not living with her anymore. Though I've experienced living in my condo alone, iba pa rin pala kapag naiisip kong simula na ngayon para permanente na nga akong bumukod sa kanya. And to think that Daddy's gone, I can only imagine her being alone at this big house. Jaylee and Ate Shan have their own family already. And there's Ace for me. I felt sad for leaving her here alone.
"I will miss you, Mommy. Dadalaw po kami dito palagi," I assured her.
"I will miss you too. Enjoy your honeymoon, hija.
This woman who's been taking care of me since I was born will be left here alone. How I wish Daddy's still alive.
"Please enjoy your life too, Mommy. Loosen up. I saw beads of tears started to fall from her eyes. Mas lalo tuloy akong naiyak. "Kung gusto mo pong mag-asawa ulit, it's not too late, 'my. We'll support you."
She laughed as I wiped her tears.
"You're already a grown woman, anak. Ang bilis ng panahon. We've been busy at work that we didn't notice you and your sibling's growth in different aspects. But always remember that we love you, alright?"
