Most teenagers wake up to the calls of a loving parent, or a persisting alarm clock. I wake up to my cat sat on my head- having a good go at killing me.
"Get OFF Barty!" I yelled, sitting up and chucking him on the floor. Well, I was up now.
"Lucas, get up or you'll be late for school!" Vikrum shouted up the stairs.
As I tug the covers away from me, I can hear the static crakling because of those dang nylon sheets. I swear, I would do ANYTHING to have normal sheets. If I can't be human, I can at least have a quilt that doesn't make me walk like I have nettles in my pants. And they say vampires can't feel pain.
I put on my fairly average uniform and head out to Noosedale High. Why Vikrum couldn't wait till my 18th birthday to turn me I do not know. Now I have to attend school for all eternity. Somebody stake me.
I ran to school and got to regestration just in time for Mr. Hitz to give me detetion.
"Now class," he drawled, "We have a new arrival today. Please give a warm welcome to Miss Cassandra Grey."
I looked up at the girl at the front off the class. No. No freaking way. It was the girl from the orb! But she most definately was not crying. Her dirty blonde hair was tied in a messy ponytail, and her blue eyes were framed by unsmudged eyeliner. There was no other way to describe her...Hot.
"Miss Grey you'll be sitting at the back next to Gerald Jervis." He pointed Gerald out, and she went to her appointed seat. Right behind me. Now it's a well known fact that Gerald Jervis is a player. I really hope she kicks his butt.
Gym, trigonomotry, chemistry and cooking whizzed past, as they always do when you have eternal life. My mind was on Cassandra. She shared no classes with me, apart from history, which, annoyingly, was next.

"Settle down, settle down!" Mrs. Savage rattled, blinking slowly and settling down in her bog chair, "Today we're going to be reading up on the Trojan War, so get your books out please!" A series of groans pierced the silence. Mrs. Savage always treats us like we're three. But we obeyed, getting out our massive book that seemed to cover every topic under the sun. I was so engrossed (asleep) in our reading material that I didn't notice who was next to me. (And they say vampires are all knowing). Cassandra Grey. Of course, she hadn't noticed me, but I couldn't help feeling something... weird about her. Like she was a book with pages ripped out. Or a computer chip someones spilt tea on. She was texting behind her book, and I peeked over to take a look at who she was talking to.
Unfortunately, I hadn't picked up on subtlety. My chair fell to the ground as I moved my head to look at her phone. I think thats when she noticed me.
